Who We Are

The Graduate Recruitment and Admissions team at the SFU Beedie School of Business is responsible for managing and executing the comprehensive end-to-end recruitment and admissions cycle for all graduate business programs offered at the university. The team responsibilities include relationship building, review and evaluation of candidates, business development, event planning, marketing and ambassador program management.

About the Role

The Manager, Recruitment and Admissions is responsible for developing, leading and executing a comprehensive student recruitment strategy for the SFU Beedie School of Business for a specific graduate program or group of graduate programs in line with the overall recruitment strategy for the Segal Graduate School. The Manager is responsible for the research, data analysis, business development and stakeholder management necessary to successfully recruit a dynamic graduate cohort each year. The position establishes and sustains professional relationships and partnerships with local, domestic, and international businesses and industry organizations that are a principal source of graduate candidates and manages the targeted graduate recruitment program including, the planning and delivery of all student recruitment activities to attract well-qualified candidates.

Qualifications

Master\'s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related discipline, and two years of related experience in areas such as professional sales management, including the design and delivery of professional services, sales programs or other long cycle sales programs in industry and post-secondary work environments, and working with customer relationship management (CRM) systems or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of Senate-mandated policy and principles regarding admission, registration, financial aid and awards, and academic requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of complex admission requirements and admission policies, effective interviewing techniques and comprehensive knowledge of the number of graduate offerings.
  • Excellent knowledge of a wide array of software applications and enterprise-wide systems such as Salesforce CRM software, student information and admission evaluation databases, scheduling software, campaign management software and survey software.
  • Excellent knowledge of high touch sales methods and strong influencing skills.
  • Excellent strategic planning skills, including skills in the development of multi-year comprehensive sales strategies.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.
  • Excellent marketing skills, and aptitude for business development and sales.
  • Excellent data analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work with cross functional teams within SFU.
  • Ability to assess the educational needs of the business community and develop/implement sales programs accordingly.
  • Ability to independently set and accomplish goals, establish priorities and meet deadlines with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment exercising mature judgment and a high level of diplomacy and discretion.
