THE OPPORTUNITY




BVGlazing Systems currently has an opportunity for a Quality Manager to plan, coordinate and lead quality management system operations that will ensure products and processes are capable of producing consistent results that conform to established industry standards in a fast-paced job-shop type manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Director of Quality, the Quality Manager is responsible for successful implementation and sustainability of all aspects of quality system requirements throughout the organization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals. Interprets and promotes quality philosophy to key personnel in organization. Leads and manages quality team subordinates. Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards. Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component. Performs quality reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records. Leads audit activities with third-party participants. Implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with department managers. Implement and document corrective actions to address deficiencies. Coordinates and tracks project improvement activities. Working with the manufacturing and design teams to develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities. Review all data obtained during quality control activities, to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures and confers with production, management and engineering personnel to solve work-related problems. Feedback to field team members related to corrective action and containment when site issues are identified. Liaise with Suppliers to identify defective materials and request corrective actions. All other duties, as required.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

To perform this job successfully, an individual must use a computer to input and receive data and will use various measurement tools including but not limited to; Vernier, calipers, tape measure, low-E detector, digital protractor, argon tester. Minimum 5 years of experience as a lead in a quality role in a manufacturing environment. Post-secondary education related to Quality Assurance and/or Project Management. Lead auditor or internal quality auditor experience. Practical knowledge of Six-Sigma, APQP, PPAPs, SPC and statistics (collection of data and results) is preferred. Able to identify problems and resolutions using 8D methodology. Able to interpret architectural/shop drawings. Understand and assist in continuous improvement methods and opportunities. Strong interpersonal skills. Result orientated, thoroughness and attention to detail. Strong organization skills, attention to detail, communication skills including direct customer interaction. Computer literacy, working knowledge of MS Office applications. Health and Safety knowledge preferred. Must be flexible in hours to overlap shifts or be available for alternate shifts. Minimal travel to suppliers, job sites, as required.
