About Us
The Office of Service Efficiency (the Office) was established in 2015 to develop and implement a regulatory reform and modernization agenda in Nova Scotia. It began its work with a focus on reducing barriers to doing business in Nova Scotia and has since expanded its scope to include other groups, including physicians, citizens, and to removing barriers to the housing development process.
It delivers on its mandate through its work in three primary areas: 1) by providing an independent assessment of regulatory proposals against best practice principles, which includes measuring the financial impact of individual regulatory proposals for costs or savings 2) improving service provided by government to support regulatory compliance and 3) working with partners, including government partners, in aligning regulatory approaches.
