The Corix team has an opportunity for a Manager, Project Development in Vancouver BC. This position is responsible for a full project development cycle related to low-carbon district energy systems. This includes the development and execution of an overall project strategy, individual project plans, supporting a business analysis, regulatory support, and other responsibilities related to the development of thermal energy systems up to the implementation/construction phase. Leads due diligence and feasibility (technical and financial) assessments for new energy projects, liaises with internal and external stakeholders and Subject Mater Experts (SME). Participates in negotiations of the business agreements. Supports a business development team in building relationships with a wide range of potential clients from developers, through building owners to the public sector and institutions, and is a key contact with the engineering and construction community.

What you\'ll do

Major Accountabilities

  • Prepares the overall project development plan for new energy opportunities and leads the process from responding to RFPs/RFEOIs, through MOU negotiations, due diligence into the negotiations of the final agreements and to the implementation.
  • Actively participates in technical solution identification with internal and external teams. Monitors and provides ongoing support in the development of projects in direct contact with the Operations and Project Management Office to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Works with financial development teams to develop project financial models, and coordinates with regulatory team and regulatory agencies.
  • Develops and maintains good business relationships with external and internal customers and all project stakeholders to develop new business with existing and prospective customers; represents the company at industry functions and events.
  • Leads applications for grant funding, as applicable, for the relevant projects
General Responsibilities
  • Prepares business packages and responses to RFQ\'s and RFP\'s, including developing strategies of approach, drawing on existing content and drafting original, customized content based on specific customer requirements;
  • Supports BD in identifying, developing and closing new business opportunities in Western Canada.
  • Manages multi-functional teams during the feasibility assessments and due diligence; decarbonization studies;
  • Participates in the technical review, recommendation, and implementation of energy technologies
  • Manages stakeholder and strategic partner relationships
  • Supports negotiations teams and participates in major business agreements negotiations, and negotiates consulting services agreements for new projects in development;
  • Prepares Business Cases for leadership team\'s approvals;
  • Prepares project content for, and coordinates and supports regulatory applications, working with regulatory team;
  • Leads presentations with clients and consultants through the complete cycle from initial concept design, through the preferred solution and financial results to implementation;
  • Performs other related duties as required
What you bring
  • Degree in science, engineering, sustainable energy or related field
  • 6+ years related experience in the thermal energy field
  • Experience driving the due diligence, and transaction closing process through collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data, synthesize a range of inputs, and develop solutions to complex utility infrastructure and service challenging considering technical, financial, and service factors
  • Good knowledge of and experience in thermal energy field (buildings efficiency/performance and district energy an asset); technical concepts, project costing development
  • Exceptional project and people management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presentation development and delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment when handling sensitive and confidential matters
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, including negotiating, decision-making, research, and analysis, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, ensuring that deadlines are met, and work is completed in a timely fashion.
  • Knowledge of environmental and economic regulatory requirements an asset
  • Required: MS Office, Teams, Sharepoint; ability and willingness to learn internal software programs

  • Normal office setting work work from home environment
  • Occasional travel to energy business sites and energy business related conferences.
