The Manager, Procurement Operations reports to the Senior Manager, Procurement.
The position supports procurement operations by managing sourcing strategies, overseeing procurement cycles, and optimizing the supply chain, as well as supplier relationships. This role translates organizational needs into actionable procurement plans.
As part of the Procurement team, we aim to enhance long-term profitability through strategic partnerships and sustainable practices in collaboration with various departments. Key responsibilities include building and managing a preferred supplier base, executing procurement activities with transparency and ethics, negotiating top-tier contracts, and identifying efficiencies aligned with company values and strategy. The overarching goal is to support teams in delivering transformative experiences to guests, stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors alike.
As the first touchpoint for many of Armstrong Collectives' suppliers and clients, the Manager, Procurement Operations will provide exceptional service to our Operations teams and their stakeholders, managing their dedicated portfolios and exceeding expectations at every opportunity.
Key Areas of Accountability
Procurement
Manage Procurement processes, contract lifecycles, and category strategies.
Supports procurement planning and execution
Manage and maintain key files for stakeholders, such as supplier-vendor catalogues, cost management, contract library, and vendor score matrix.
Support business units and stakeholders with valuable information during budget planning and CAPEX projects.
Manage Supplier Performance as per the portfolio assigned
Assist stakeholders in making informed decisions promptly
Advise stakeholders of trends and opportunities that drive volume and strengthen relationships
Act with financial leadership, constant attention to efficiencies, cost savings, and improved operational effectiveness
Negotiation
Negotiate the best possible overall value in every instance with a strategic lens
Supports strategic discussions
Manages terms & conditions
Conduct negotiations for mid-value to high-value contracts
Gain access to the best products, services, and contracts through collaborations, negotiation and accountability as it relates to the portfolio
Collaborates positively with Legal with a firm understanding of contracts, leases and other legal documents.
Sourcing
Conduct and develop competitive bids and proposals
Manage & Award RFX and Capex Exercises Regularly
Ensure alignment with company strategic goals, values
Assist and provide valuable recommendations in vendor selection processes
Stay up to date with industry and market trends
Purchasing & Supplier Relationship Management
Approves POs, manages spend allocation
Validates and rationalizes new vendor onboarding
Act as a liaison between vendors and business units, ensuring positive and growing relationships
Tracks Supplier performance
Analyzes savings and reports procurement metrics
Hold supplier partners accountable to achieve desired and contracted outcomes, as well as open and transparent agreements for better costs and risk management
Manage and support solution-driven outcomes during supplier evaluation cycles
Establish, maintain and continually optimize the purchasing process
Leadership
Provide guidance and leadership to an experienced team
Effective people manager who leads by example
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum 7 years' comprehensive experience in Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain, CAPEX & OPEX and supplier management
4-5 years of proven experience leading and managing teams
Ability to convey a professional demeanour and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a highly fast-paced environment.
Proven expertise in establishing and enhancing a procurement function to optimize efficiency and drive cost savings
Expert in developing and executing detailed project plans, ensuring timely delivery of business objectives.
Proven success in Vendor & Client relationship Management
Proven experience in Category management
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or related field.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Professional certification in the supply management field (e.g. SCMP or ISM certification is an asset.
Skills/ Requirements
A proven record of accomplishment of excellent organizational skills and time management, with an ability to meet deadlines in a busy work environment, is essential for this position.
Create and maintain highly efficient, solid, and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Previous experience with COUPA, Net Suite is an asset
Capable of Negotiation and influence
Proven accuracy in working with budgets and reports as well as analyzing data
Demonstrated time management and organizational skills

Work Environment
Vancouver based; hybrid role with a minimum 3 days in the office.
Compensation
The base salary offered for this role is $102,000 to $127,000 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
