Manager, PR & Influencer Relations

[Toronto, Ontario Hybrid]

Our Toronto team is looking for a strong, senior communications professional in search of a client management role to support the overall growth of our business in Canada. You have several years of experience in a PR agency setting and can effectively work with a team to manage your client\'s day-to-day business - managing both up and down levels in the agency.

You have a passion for driving a client\'s business forward, looking for opportunities, managing issues and supporting external and internal senior advisors in strategic work. You have an incredible attention to detail to flawlessly execute creative campaigns and programs.

You\'re a strategic thinker, one who has good instincts and can support clients and your account team with agile and forward-thinking behaviour. You are a great listener, provide sound counsel, are media and trend-focused care about providing value and measurement through analytics and are committed to helping grow our business.

What You\'ll Do:

  • Manage several account files and act as main point of contact for clients and the account team
  • Keep the team on track through timely and financially responsible deliverables, while also supporting and developing account teams
  • Make decisions that push our client\'s business forward by applying creative and strategic thinking to plans, programs and campaigns
  • Provide day to day counsel that helps solve business problems
  • Identify all opportunities through competitive and industry insights and trends
  • Apply your exceptional writing skills to the drafting of a variety of materials from client briefs to full-year plans
  • Editing and review of client facing materials
  • Lead client and new business presentations through strong verbal communication
  • Manage program / campaign scoping, budgeting, planning and execution
  • Play an active role on new business development and the growth of the agency overall
  • Play a key role on influencer relations by researching, vetting and negotiating contracts, preparing briefs, directing content and messaging, managing relationships and KPIs
  • Develop wrap reports and conducting post-mortems with the team
  • Managing all media relations and traditional PR activity such as earned campaigns, sponsored content, consumer surveys, events and activations
Skills
  • Experience leading accounts, including budgetary management
  • Familiarity with analytical and measurement tools
  • Expert MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Understanding of digital and social platforms (social media universe, such as Tik Tok Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, etc.)
  • Highly adept at writing various types of creative content
Qualities & Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in a public relations / communications agency role
  • Ability to take ownership over multiple client files and lead
  • Bachelor\'s degree, PR certificate
  • Experience working with consumer and/ or corporate clients
  • Experience working on a CPG or portfolio account an asset
  • Skilled at providing client counsel and finding solutions
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven creative and strategic thinker
  • Proficient at building project scopes and budgets, managing and tracking budgets
  • Experience in a large agency or organization
  • Experience managing junior employees (associate, coordinator, intern)
  • Confident speaker/ presenter and persuasive in the room
  • Ability to provide clients with media prep for interviews and events
  • Forward-thinking, global mindset
  • Morale builder, positive mentor and coach
  • Strong advocate for diversity and inclusion
  • Issues management exposure, experience an asset
  • Experience managing a portfolio account is considered an asset
