The Opportunity: Reporting to the Director, Risk Management and Clinical Services, the Manager is responsible for providing effective leadership for the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy. The Manager will ensure efficient resource management (physical, human, financial) and compliance with all provisions of current regulatory requirements and recommended best practices with a focus on safe patient care. This role provides leadership to a team of registered health professionals, fostering an environment of learning, teamwork and individual growth.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree (B.Sc) in Pharmacology, Masters preparation in a health related field or PharmD would be considered an asset.
  • Part A Registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Preference for at least 2 years of clinical pharmacy related management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of practice in a clinical pharmacy
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills, human resources management skills, and financial management skills.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of process mapping and implementing LEAN methods within a department would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience with Change Management is desired.
  • Proficient computer skills with working knowledge of Meditech Expanse, computerized charting, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Must strive to continuously provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers
  • Must adhere to the duties of workers, as stipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Must have an ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) in the English language to provide excellent communication with team members, patients, and families. Ability to communicate in additional language(s) is considered an asset.

  • Must be able to perform all bona fide and essential duties of the position, which may include physical demands such as pushing, pulling, bending, etc.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent attendance/performance record
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with other members of the health care team

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • As a Leader models CGMH\xe2\x80\x99s I CARE AT Values and Standards of Behaviour while fostering a safe, productive work environment in accordance with CGMH\xe2\x80\x99s Values, Standards of Behaviour, and the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Supports the establishment and achievement of objectives for the Pharmacy in accordance with the vision, mission, and values of CGMH.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of Quality Management, the Ontario College of Pharmacists Accreditation, and Accreditation Canada programs.
  • Provides clinical and technical guidance to team members and represents the discipline to broader Hospital care team.
  • Completes regular inspections to ensure proper work procedures are followed and safety standards are maintained.
  • Ensures testing, quality control procedures, and records meet the requirements of accrediting and licensing agencies.
  • Stays up to date on the condition of all equipment ensuring its proper servicing.
  • Supports the development of the capital budget for pharmacy purchases, selects, and purchases pharmacy equipment with input from medical and technical staff.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of policy and procedure manuals.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Hours of Work: Please be reminded that as a Hospital, in order to provide the necessary patient care, our operations run 24/7. Therefore, depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work week days and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.
Wage: $92,471.64-$115,771.86
