Overview:
The Manager, Performance Strategy ensures that performance media campaigns are effectively executed, continuously optimized, and aligned with client business objectives. Acting as a critical link between Planning, Analytics, and Activation, this role is responsible for driving real-time performance improvements, enforcing measurement frameworks, and translating strategic direction into executional success.
Performance Strategy connects business goals with actionable, data-driven media strategies. This role is deeply embedded within accounts, ensuring that strategic frameworks are properly executed, optimized, and measured. The Manager provides hands-on leadership in refining strategy based on data insights, industry trends, and performance results.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Campaign Execution & Optimization - Oversee real-time performance analysis and tactical adjustments, ensuring all media investments drive measurable outcomes.
  • Performance Measurement & Reporting - Ensure KPI frameworks are followed, working with Analytics to track performance trends and apply insights to improve efficiency.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration - Act as a primary connection point between Planning, Analytics, and Activation, ensuring seamless execution of performance strategies.
  • Client Engagement & Support - Work closely with client teams to translate strategic direction into execution, ensuring media investments deliver impact.
  • Test & Learn Implementation - Execute testing roadmaps, ensuring all learnings are integrated into future optimizations.
  • Market & Competitive Research - Stay ahead of industry trends, platform changes, and competitive activity, leveraging insights to refine performance strategies.
  • Tactical Strategy Support - Assist in budget forecasting, audience segmentation, and media planning, ensuring execution aligns with strategic priorities.
  • Ad Hoc Strategic Support - Support additional strategic planning efforts as needed, providing expertise across performance media initiatives.
Education and Experience:
  • 3-5 years' related work experience in the Media industry (at least two of programmatic, search or social), ideally within an agency environment.
  • Post-secondary degree, specialization in Marketing/Advertising an asset.
  • Possess an understanding of business marketing, communication planning, and the media marketplace.
  • Understanding of digital platforms for planning & insights such as DV 360, Google Ads, Meta, Snap, Pinterest, Twitter, TikTok, GA4/GA360, etc.
  • Proficiency with industry planning tools (ComScore/Metrica (Telmar), Pathmatics, Platform Insight Tools - Google, Meta).
  • Up to date knowledge of media/content owners, production agencies, research companies, and other suppliers which we could partner with
  • Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent projects.
  • Awareness of client business issues, industry/consumer trends, promotional resources, market status, and competition.
  • Good understanding of tracking and tagging, behavioral marketing, database modeling, retargeting, and addressability.
