The Role:

Neo Financial is looking for a Manger, Payroll & Equity to join the team in Calgary, AB. This role will manage the design and execution of our critical payroll, equity, and benefits programs. As a member of the People team, this position provides leadership and guidance to our Payroll Associates and monitors the quality of output and optimal employee experience.

What you'll be doing:

  • Oversee and provide final review for full cycle payroll processing of full-time, part-time, and temporary contract employees
  • Manage the administration of our employee equity program
  • Responsible for all year-end payroll and regulatory filing requirements
  • Design and implement scalable processes and systems related to payroll and equity
  • Lead, coach and provide support to a high performance payroll team
  • Provide thoughtful research, analysis, and recommendations on our payroll and equity programs
  • Ensure that internal controls and audit trails are in place
  • Ensure compliance with applicable provincial and federal legislation
Who we are looking for::
  • Experienced leader with a minimum of 7 years experience in full-cycle payroll and benefits administration, plus experience with employee stock option plans
  • Payroll experience in a company of 500+ employees; ideally in a fast-paced industry, dealing with fluctuations in seasonal work flow
  • Proven ability to build and mentor a high performing team
  • Experience with Ceridian DayForce is an asset
  • You are process-minded and are always looking for ways to create efficiencies
  • You're comfortable working with autonomy and take ownership over your work
  • You're not afraid to take on initiatives that problem solve and resolve issues
  • You're organized and detail-oriented, with familiarity in handling confidential information
