Position Overview

The Patient Care Manager provides leadership for the health care team in promoting patient/resident centered care. The Patient Care Manager promotes stewardship of financial resources and ensures that adequate human and material resources are available to support the 24-hour delivery of safe, quality patient/resident care. The Patient Care Manager creates an environment that enables the facility/region to fulfill its mission and achieve established performance goals. The Patient Care Manager seeks to promote and maintain a professional, team oriented and service conscious environment wherein quality improvement opportunities are pursued and risk is mitigated. The Patient Care Manager demonstrates a commitment to the mission, vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit.

Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years demonstrated knowledge and skill in Leadership and Management in a health care setting with a focus on mental health.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Undergraduate Degree in Nursing or other related health care discipline required.
• Graduate Degree in Nursing, Administration or other related health care discipline preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or other health licensing body required.

• Demonstrates leadership when collaborating with regional, site and peer administration, in determining the acquisition, allocation and utilization of organizational fiscal and human resources.
• Demonstrates leadership and manages factors related to safety, outcomes, effectiveness, cost and social impact when developing and implementing practice innovations.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
