$90,000 - $110,000 per year

Manager - Industrial Installations

The Manager has responsibility for the overall operation of the division, including sales, estimating, fabrication, installation, execution of maintenance contracts, purchasing and managing the team under general direction from the Vice-President. The incumbent\xe2\x80\x99s mandate is to grow the business and continue its integration with an emphasis on quality, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to strategic and annual business planning for the division, driving opportunities for growth and profitability.
  • Oversee all aspects of operations, with direct involvement in sales, job costing, estimating, and contract negotiation.
  • Lead sales and business development activities throughout Whitehorse and the Yukon Territory.
  • Ensure job costing and estimating maintains margin and profitability targets, unless otherwise approved by the VP, Commercial Operations.
  • Monitor and review fabrication and installation activities, enforcing quality and customer service standards.
  • Maintain an efficient, effective and economical inventory control system, ensuring that materials and supplies are available when needed.
  • Schedule execution of installation and maintenance work in order to optimize crew efficiency and meet client satisfaction targets.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues and customer concerns or complaints.
  • Monitor operational and financial performance against annual plan and budget.
  • Communicate regular updates to the Vice-President, Commercial Operations concerning sales activities, results against plan, operational challenges, and customer satisfaction issues, immediately escalating critical items as required.
  • Attract, retain and engage a high performing team with an expandable capacity to scale with the growth of the business.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience installing and maintaining industrial and commercial overhead doors.
  • 5 years of leading industrial overhead door installation and maintenance teams.
  • Experience with construction estimating and costing.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial, commercial and residential overhead doors, loading dock levelers, lift gates, etc.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to review and interpret contracts, ensuring any additional work outside of project scope is identified.
  • Adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, working well under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience working during winter in northern climates is helpful.
  • Formal training or certification in an applicable construction trade, CDI Overhead Door Technician certification or similar professional certification an asset.
