DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Visitor Experience, the Manager, Outdoor Activities will lead a team and be responsible for planning and implementing orientations for recreational activities and other public participation programs that are respectful to the environment, for Gatineau Park and the Quebec Urban Lands. You will develop procedures, policies and agreements to ensure proper management of revenue generating programs and maintain a network of contacts with regional and provincial stakeholders, volunteers and other user groups. You will act as an NCC spokesperson with the media, interest groups and the public and collaborate directly with the various NCC managers, particularly those responsible for environmental approvals, land management and operations and life cycle on various projects.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
University degree in management, recreation, natural sciences, tourism or in a related field to this position.

EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five (5) years of experience planning and managing outdoor activities, programs and projects.

• Experience developing strategies, policies, and/or action plans.
• Experience managing staff.
• Experience managing relationships with internal and external clients.
• Experience preparing and supervising agreements, and contracts.

• Of current guidelines of the Gatineau Park Master Plan.
• Of trends and principles of outdoor activity within a conservation park.
• Of park management principles.
• Of best practices for revenue generating programs.

• To work efficiently at strategic and operational levels, as part of a project team or on an individual basis.
• To respond to multiple demands and cope with conflicting priorities.
• To analyze and resolve complex and changing issues and make efficient use of limited resources.
• To apply technical and scientific knowledge in developing projects and programs for a vast and complex portfolio.

• Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in a field of expertise relevant to the position.
• Knowledge of trail construction and maintenance.

• Possess or eligible to obtain reliability security clearance.
• Linguistic profile: Bilingual CCC.
• Possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence.
• Do field work in difficult conditions.
• May work irregular hours, nights, weekends.
• Work mainly from the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre.
