The North Bay Jack Garland Airport Corporation is seeking a proactive and hands-on
Manager of Operational Assets and Infrastructure
to lead the maintenance and operational readiness of airport facilities, fleets, and infrastructure. This key leadership role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of airport assets while supporting both internal operations and commercial client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee maintenance of airport heavy equipment, service vehicles, and commercial client fleets (in our internal garage and through our licensed DriveON Vehicle Inspection Center(VIC)).
Manage building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components, including appropriate contractors following initial hands-on troubleshooting and resolution.
Lead the development and implementation of maintenance programs and operational SOPs.
Act as the primary contact for facility and fleet troubleshooting, coordinating internal and external resources.
Support airfield seasonal operational planning, processes and staff scheduling.
Participate in emergency response and act as alternate Airport Operations Coordinator / On-Scene Controller when required.
Contribute to budget planning, procurement, and contract management.
Ensure compliance with Transport Canada, MTO, and other agency regulations, safety standards, and internal policies.
Be part of the airport's shared management on-call process and associated responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in airport operations, facilities management, or related technical or mechanical fields experience.
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in airport or infrastructure/facilities/construction operations.
Valid Ontario Class "DZ" Driver's License (or willingness to obtain in the near term); G License minimum requirement.
Ability to operate heavy equipment and complete physical hands-on work
Strong hands-on leadership, direct communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Detail oriented focus for accurate records collection and retention.
Financial acumen for budget management and resource allocation for areas of responsibility.
Familiarity with TP312, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Safety Management Systems and Quality Assurance.
Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances within a dynamic operational environment.
Desirable additional but optional assets: 310T Mechanic license (current or former), Airport Executive accreditation, Firearms Possession and Acquisition certificate.
