Manager of Wellness and Member Experience



Rate of Pay: $20/hr.



Objective

:

The objective of this position is to provide highest quality health, wellness, and recreation programs for YMCA members and participants through direct leadership and supervision of staff and volunteers

Nature and Scope:



The Manager of Wellness and Member Experience is a full-time position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. The Manager supervises the cleaning staff and volunteer leaders of group fitness and health and wellness programs. The Manager will be working a flexible work week which will involve direct program delivery, and may include weekends and evenings. This will be accomplished in the parameters of a 40-hour work week and requires conscientiousness to work life balance. The Manager must be able to manage existing programs and services as well as create new and innovative programs to meet the needs of the members and the community. The Manager is ultimately responsible for the recruitment and retention of YMCA members and ensuring excellence in Program Service.

Responsibilities:



Develops new and innovative programs to meet emerging community health and wellness To recruit and supervise cleaning staff and volunteers in the Health and Wellness area so that YMCA standards are maintained Organizes and schedules all group fitness classes and instructors Recruits and schedules volunteers as well as tracks certification Provides direct program leadership by leading group Wellness, Cross Training Orientations Conducts both formal and informal evaluations of programs Makes recommendation for the purchase of new Cross Training and group fitness equipment Provides support to the Membership Sales and Service team Ensures all program areas and equipment are safe and clean using Clean Culture Principles Provides supervision of cleaning staff and orders cleaning supplies Organizes special events to enhance the member experiences and to promote the YMCA in the community Shares responsibility for community presentations and contact with schools Maintains accurate, up-to-date statistics so that informed decisions can be made Provides oversight of the YMCA webpage and social media accounts Serves as a Member of YMCA Regional Marketing and Communications Group Oversight of Shine On Philanthropic/awareness activities Team member of Regional Health and Recreation Committee Serves as member of Western Regional Wellness Coalition Lead on Occupational Health and Safety Committee Adherence to YMCA Personnel Policies and Procedures. Child Protection Policies and Procedures and OH&S standards. Other duties as they assist in our commitment to quality service to our membership

Qualifications:



The individual will have a diverse skill set including, but not limited to

Volunteer management Program delivery Scheduling and supervision of cleaning and cleaning staff Knowledge of trends in Health and Wellness Wellness Instruction Certification -YMCA Certification an asset Personal Training Certification -YMCA Certification an asset Current First Aid, CPR
These skills would be obtained through completion of a College Diploma in a related field and or an equivalent in education and experience
