Job Description

The Municipality of the County of Victoria is hiring a Manager of Solid Waste Collections based out of the Waste Management Facility in Baddeck, Nova Scotia.

This position will play a key role in overseeing and leading the implementation of the new intermunicipal curbside collection partnership with Inverness County, ensuring a smooth transition and effective service delivery. The Manager is responsible for overseeing curbside solid waste collection services, including garbage, recycling, and organics. The role manages fleet, staff, and customer service related to collections, while ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and compliant service delivery. The successful candidate will provide leadership in route optimization, service improvements, and collaboration with partner municipalities.

Term:

Full-time; permanent; non-unionized

Hours

: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Rate:

$71,937.20 to $94,153.10 (Grade 4)

Qualifications:



Undergraduate degree in relevant field. Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in waste management, public works, or municipal service delivery. Three (3) years in a supervisory capacity. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience in a government environment is considered an asset. Valid Nova Scotia Class 5 Driver's License; Class 3 would be considered an asset.
