The Department of Municipal and Northern Relations is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Manager of Planning Supports and Partnerships position.

Conditions of Employment:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Ability to work overtime, including evenings, and weekends as required
Must be able to travel by ground and air across Manitoba with possible overnight stays, as required.
Qualifications:
Essential
Post-secondary degree in geography, environmental design, agriculture, engineering, law, economics, education, environmental studies, land use planning or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training and extensive experience may also be considered.
Extensive work experience conducting complex policy research, analysis, evaluation, and program development at a senior level.
Significant experience in the interpretation and application of statutes, regulations, and policies.
Strong political acumen to manage highly confidential, controversial, and/or politically sensitive information, and conduct business in a professional manner.
Strong written communication skills including the ability to write a variety of clear, concise documents and reports for different audiences.
Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to a variety of audiences.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines while working under pressure managing multiple priorities in tight timeframes.
Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships and partnerships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Supervisory experience including planning and evaluating the work of team members in a work setting.
Desired
Experience in project management and change management is an asset.
Duties:
The Manager of Planning Supports and Partnerships is responsible for researching, analyzing, developing and updating, monitoring and evaluating policies and programs for the Community Planning and Development Division.
The Manager provides leadership to the unit through effective performance management, mentorship, and professional development, and provides managerial, technical, consultation, research and analytical support to senior management.
The work unit is responsible for leading division projects, communication and accessibility projects, stakeholder outreach and relations, municipal and planning district capacity building, departmental correspondence, and corporate reporting and initiatives to support senior levels of government.
