Purpose OF ROLE



The Manager of Nutrition, Research and Quality is responsible for overseeing Grober Nutrition's Research and Development activities, Quality Assurance, Product Safety, and Nutrition programs to ensure that all milk replacers, feeds, and nutritional solutions consistently meet regulatory, customer, and company standards.

This role provides leadership to Research and Development, Quality and Nutrition teams, oversees product formulation and lab testing, supports third-party certifications (CFIA, HACCP, etc.), and ensures that continuous improvement principles are applied across production and product development.

The position plays a pivotal role in maintaining Grober's reputation as a trusted partner in young animal nutrition and in advancing our mission to deliver high-quality, science-based nutritional solutions for the dairy and livestock industry.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities



Leadership & People Management



Provide day-to-day leadership to R&D, Nutrition and Quality Assurance. Set clear goals and expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and foster employee growth and development. Build a culture of quality, collaboration, and accountability across all departments. Lead cross-functional quality meetings and represent the Research and Nutrition function at leadership level.

Product Development & Nutrition



Lead research projects exploring neonatal calf nutrition, health and management and their impacts on future production. Evaluate ingredient quality and nutritional efficacy, ensuring formulations align with animal health, growth, and performance objectives. Provide technical support and product knowledge to internal teams, customers, and distributors. Stay current on emerging research, nutritional trends, and regulatory changes in the dairy and livestock industries.

Continuous Improvement



Analyze trends and data from research trials and field performance to drive improvements in quality and formulation. Implement process enhancements that improve consistency, yield, and product safety. Lead or participate in Lean/Kaizen initiatives related to quality and nutrition.

Customer Focus



Partner with Sales and Technical Services to address customer inquiries, complaints, and special formulation requests. Support customer audits and on-site visits as needed. Ensure Grober's products maintain the highest standards of safety, palatability, and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Animal Science, Dairy Science, Food Science, Nutrition, or related field.

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in feed, dairy, or food manufacturing with a focus on quality assurance and nutrition.

Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams.

Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, CFIA, and feed industry regulations.

Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret lab and production data.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and quality management systems (QMS).
