Position Summary:

Reporting to the Executive Director, Marketing, the Manager, Media Production leads Seneca\xe2\x80\x99s media production services creating promotional and informational content that positions Seneca as an educational leader. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across Seneca, the incumbent provides media production expertise in the planning, development and implementation of institutional priorities and strategies. They advise on all production aspects, including the approach, design and delivery of digital and print collateral across all channels, optimizing human, financial and physical resources. As a member of the Marketing and Communications Leadership Team, the incumbent collaborates to support the departmental mandate of delivering strategic, integrated solutions that drive enrolment and strengthen the Seneca brand. Responsibilities:

Media Production

\xc2\xb7 Manages the production of educational and promotional materials in both digital and print format, including consultation, graphic design & illustration, digital media production, photography, web coding and production. \xc2\xb7 Consults with clients on print and digital media projects by advising artistic and technical aspects of production and providing realistic deadlines/budgets required for development. \xc2\xb7 Works directly with Web Development to ensure Seneca\xe2\x80\x99s main website is continuously updated with enhanced graphics and content as well as new technologies to better facilitate access to information. \xc2\xb7 Ensures projects meet marketing and communication goals, and are produced to high quality standards and the specifications of the required medium. \xc2\xb7 Evaluates, adjusts, and creates processes and procedures as required for effective operations, including work intake, project tracking, review, change management and file management.

Management

\xc2\xb7 Hires, trains, motivates, evaluates and manages the media production staff, providing technical, artistic and photographic abilities to produce high quality digital, print and graphic materials. \xc2\xb7 Assigns and schedules work activities for media production staff, monitoring and reporting on workflow, reviewing and evaluating productivity. \xc2\xb7 Maintains budgets, efficiently managing expenditures and reporting annual budget projections to the Executive Director, Marketing Communications.

Planning & Advisement

\xc2\xb7 Acts as a College-wide consultant to departments/divisions considering print and electronic media initiatives. \xc2\xb7 Develops effective working relationships and lines of communication with users at all levels of the College. \xc2\xb7 Stays current on print and digital media production trends and recommends improvements or the development of new initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education

\xc2\xb7 Minimum completed four (4) year degree specializing in Communications, Graphic Design or Media Production.

Experience

\xc2\xb7 Minimum seven (7) years of media production, graphic design, and communications experience. \xc2\xb7 Experience managing projects, resources and budgets within multi-location and multi-faceted organizations. \xc2\xb7 Experience with print and digital production and distribution techniques. \xc2\xb7 Experience with client support, design and publishing print applications including typography, photography, and production of camera-ready artwork.

Skills

\xc2\xb7 Expertise in a broad range of print and digital media services, including website design and publishing. \xc2\xb7 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, in order to effectively interact and partner with the College\xe2\x80\x99s diverse staff, faculty and community. \xc2\xb7 Ability to coach, team build and manage human resources, both internal and freelance, in multiple locations. \xc2\xb7 Strong strategic planning, prioritization and project management skills. \xc2\xb7 Innovative mindset dedicated to continuous process improvement that keeps up with new technologies.

Note:

\xc2\xb7 A skills assessment will be required during the recruitment process. \xc2\xb7 Candidates must be able to travel between Seneca campus locations.
