ADMINISTRATION - Permanent, Full-Time, 80 Hours Bi-Weekly / 1.0 FTE: Days, some evenings and weekends may be required

The Manager of Marketing and Communications is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of internal and external communication activities at the organisation, including marketing activities for all Marymound programs, fund development activities including events, the training centre and the organization as a whole.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as the contact person and spokesperson for all public inquiries regarding Marymound, alongside the CEO;
Leads crisis communications management pertaining to public attention on urgent and/or concerning events at the organization (i.e. fatality, public complaints, etc.);
Seeks opportunities to promote the agency, both generally and with respect to specific issues, through the media;
Leads communications related to special projects as assigned;
Acts as the agency's photographer/videographer;
Develops, leads and evaluates effective internal and external communications strategies for Marymound;
Manages all public relations matters, including press conferences, media relations, and news releases;
Develops speaking materials for the CEO including speeches, presentations, etc.;
Creates and manages regular content for social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram);
Designs and develops content for the Annual Report and internal materials for programs such as welcome books, posters, brochures etc.;
Produces Marymound's internal and external newsletters;
Manages print production for all agency materials;
Assists in arranging and setting up the presentation of third party virtual events;
Leads and participates in subcommittees and ad hoc event committees as required including the Bursary Committee, and the Annual Meeting;
Provides counsel to all program and service areas on marketing, communication, internal communication and public relations activities;
Helps ensure Marymound's philosophy, mission and values are visible and practiced throughout the organization.
Develops and delivers strategies integral to organizational brand and continuity of such;
Develops and supports implementation of strategic marketing plans;
Identifies and facilitates media opportunities through TV, radio, print and other platforms;
Negotiates media buys;
Writes, designs and evaluates advertising campaigns;
Participates in matters relating to Fund Development including stewardship and donor asks, and event planning and coordination;
Designs and develops banners, billboards, brochures, and other collateral materials to promote the organization
Develops and expands various contact lists/data bases related to different marketing efforts (programs, events, training centre);
Oversees the agency web site including design, content development, maintenance and inquiries made through the "contact us" portal;
Collaborates with the Fund Development team on strategies for donor stewardship, cultivation, and engagement;
Assists in the planning, promotion, and execution of fundraising events, including developing event materials, coordinating logistics, and managing communications;
Designs and produces marketing and donor recognition materials such as event programs, signage, invitations, and digital campaigns;
Supports donor outreach efforts by creating compelling communication pieces, including appeal letters, newsletters, and social media content;
Develops and maintains donor and stakeholder databases to support fundraising initiatives and event planning;
Participates in the community development and engagement committee;
Identifies media and promotional opportunities to increase visibility and community support for fundraising campaigns and events;
Participates in agency management functions as needed;
May be required to provide executive management back-up coverage to Director of Organizational Development & Cultural Services on an as-needed basis;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in communications or public relations;
Minimum of 5 years working experience in communications or public relations;
Superior verbal and written communication skills;
Graphic design skills to creatively and successfully deliver communications through different mediums including newsletters, annual reports, brochures, and website content development;
Leadership skills to facilitate and direct a comprehensive range of activities to promote the agency and educate the general public about its various programs and services;
Ability to relate well with the media, government and other public representatives, and to act as a spokesperson;
Ability to provide direction and advice on internal and external communications;
Demonstrated understanding of utilizing social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter);
Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities and take initiative;
Demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills;
Ability to build effective work relationships as well as partnerships with external individuals and organizations and develop and manage contact databases;
Advanced computer skills using including but not limited to Adobe design software, Microsoft Office suite, MailChimp and WordPress;
Experience in a non-profit or social services setting would be considered an asset;
Knowledge of Indigenous culture, or willingness to learn, is essential;
Satisfactory Criminal Record and clear Vulnerable Sector checks;
Clear Child Abuse Registry and satisfactory Prior Contact checks;
