Summary of responsibilities

Reporting to the Director Diagnostic Services and Cardiorespiratory, this position collaborates and supports the activities of the Director with day-to-day operations in ensuring the efficient functioning of Diagnostic Imaging and Cardio-Respiratory Services. They ensure the compliance to policies and procedures, staff resources to align with efficiency initiatives, participate in departmental goal and target expectations, recognize and reward employees and assist in creating and supporting an environment which empowers and encourages staff to engage in positive change.
  • Manages day to day patient flow and operations of the departments under the direction of the Director Diagnostic Services
  • Contributes to the development of and implementation of the operational plan on determining staffing needs and complement, expertise required based on both the number of staff but also the skill mix of staff
  • Identifies process improvements that exist within Diagnostic Services
  • Responds to in-person, email, and telephone questions and concerns from staff
  • Ensures that all equipment and the environment in the area are within safety standards
  • Manages complaints/incident-conduct investigations in a timely manner
  • Works with material management to establish inventory and supply quota\'s
  • Develops in collaboration with the Director, plans for pandemic and surge capacity
  • Serves as a patient advocate
  • Develops staff performance expectations and conveys these expectations to the staff
  • Conducts data analysis with relevant data and implements change based on working groups, patient and staff feedback, Best Practice Standards, Hospital policy, etc.
Requirements of the job
  • Two-year college diploma in a Health Related Discipline
  • Health Administration degree preferred
  • Minimum 3-years previous experience in a similar role
