A community YWCA formed in 1997 to meet the changing needs of women in the Muskoka region, YWCA Muskoka operates a resource centre and provides outreach programs and services as a 'YW without Walls' and is a member of YWCA Canada. YWCA Muskoka champions positive change for girls, women and gender diverse people through education, leadership and advocacy.
Position Overview:
The Manager of Development & Engagement is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with donors, members and volunteers, and the development and acquisition of revenue generating resources to ensure future organizational sustainability. Reporting to the Executive Director, they are a member of the Fund Development Committee and lead the fund development and communications strategy with and for the leadership team. This is a 4 day a week role, requiring 28 hours per week, with flexibility and benefits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the Executive Director to develop and implement integrated strategies with respect to development goals and objectives of the YWCA Muskoka
Develop the Fund Development and Communications Strategy
Implement a giving program that includes annual, monthly, major, and legacy gifts
Manage a portfolio of donors through all stages of fund development
Contribute to accuracy of records and reporting using Canada Helps Donor Database
Establish fundraising goals and ensure costs are contained within the fund development budget, contribute to the development of the YWCA Muskoka organizational budget
Assist the Executive Director and leadership team with the identification, application, and reporting on government and private foundation funding
Coordinate YWCA led fundraising events, including Swing for Your Sisters Ladies Charity Golf Tournament and coordinate 3rd party events.
Co-chair the 20th Women of Distinction Awards Gala in 2026
Liaise with new volunteers and connect them to appropriate programs and opportunities
Ensure appropriate preparation and training, including orientation programs for new volunteers and members'
Work with the leadership team to implement a diverse Communications strategy: monitor website, email marketing, media releases, social media and the Annual Report.
Oversight & reporting on the the 'Building Relationships' pillar of the 2023-2026 YWCA Strategic Plan
Represent YWCA Muskoka with professionalism at a wide range of YWCA, community and stakeholder events

Experience working in fund development in the not-for-profit sector is an asset.
A commitment to a culture of philanthropy and an ability to bring others on board.
Project management skills with a focussed attention to detail.
Experience in volunteer management and training is an asset.
Computer systems knowledge - Strong information management skills, including database management, word processing, email marketing, and social media.
Knowledge of Quickbooks Online, Google Workspace and Canada Helps CRM would be an asset.
Must be able to work cooperatively with a team.
Working knowledge of the economic and social profile of the Muskoka community
Alignment to intersectional feminist principles, inclusion and diversity.
Must have reliable transportation and valid G license.
Must consent to providing a vulnerable sector check.
