ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this is a newly created position providing leadership and financial expertise to guide decision-making, ensure compliance with legislation, and promote excellence in service delivery.
As
Manager of Corporate Services
, you'll play a key role in moving the municipality forward, both in strategic priorities and everyday operations. This senior leadership position is ideal for a strategic thinker who isn't afraid to take action. We are looking for someone who can see the big picture, make systems work better, and lead improvements that last.
You'll work closely with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Council, senior leadership, and external partners to support Altona's growth and service delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
STRATEGIC SERVICE DELIVERY IMPROVEMENT
Lead cross-functional projects to improve operations, service delivery, and internal collaboration.
Recommend and implement organizational changes to support continuous improvement.
Actively contribute to corporate and strategic planning as a member of the senior management team.
Support the development of policies, procedures, and systems that raise municipal service standards.
Develop work plans, assess risk, and manage timelines and deliverables for corporate initiatives.
LONG-TERM FINANCIAL PLANNING AND RISK ANALYSIS
Lead the development and maintenance of Altona's asset management program, including software oversight, condition assessments, and lifecycle cost planning.
Provide analysis and recommendations that support sustainable infrastructure investment and budgeting.
Work with department leads to establish service level goals and performance metrics.
Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership, Council, and committees.
CORPORATE SERVICES AND RISK MANAGEMENT
Oversee key administrative and support functions, including records management, risk management, finance and general corporate services.
Liaise with IT service providers and support internal users to resolve issues and maintain effective systems.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and data security protocols.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a systems thinker who can turn complexity into clear action. You're energized by the challenge of building smarter, more resilient organizations, and you understand how to balance people, process, and policy.
You've had experience leading a team, specifically in finance or change initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have:
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in public administration, business, project management, or a related field.
A
CPA designation
or the eligibility and willingness pursue one is a
strong
asset
Experience in risk management, capital planning, strategic planning, process improvement, financial or IT systems, or administrative services.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills across departments and disciplines.
Minimum three years of progressive senior management experience is an asset
A collaborative leadership style and an eye for operational efficiency.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Experience working in or with municipal governments is an asset but not required.
