This role is not only about managing high-quality early learning programs--it's about building something transformational from the ground up. As Manager of Childcare Services, you'll play a key leadership role in opening and shaping this innovative new space for children, families, and educators.
Position Summary
The Manager of Childcare Services is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational success of our licensed childcare programs across two locations in Mission, BC. You will oversee a range of programs and age groups, including:
1 Infant & Toddler Room
2 Rooms for 30 Months to School Age
1 Preschool Program
1 Out-of-School Care (Afterschool) Program
This includes ensuring program compliance, staff development, family engagement, and successful administration of government funding. You'll also help lead the planning, development, and launch of our brand-new childcare centre, scheduled to open in Fall 2025.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day operations across two licensed childcare locations
Ensure full compliance with BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and Health & Safety standards
Champion inclusive practices aligned with the BC Early Learning Framework
Supervise and support ECE staff across multiple program areas and age groups
Develop staff schedules and maintain staffing models that meet licensing requirements
Administer and report on CCFRI, CCOF, and other funding initiatives
Collaborate on the design and implementation of the new childcare facility
Liaise with licensing bodies, families, and community partners
Guide onboarding, policy development, and internal communication
Support budgeting, purchasing, and documentation systems
Occasionally provide hands-on support when required
Qualifications
Valid Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate with BC license to practice
Infant Toddler and/or Special Needs certification is an asset
5+ years of experience in licensed childcare, with 2+ years in a leadership role
Strong understanding of the BC Early Learning Framework and provincial childcare funding programs
Clear Criminal Record Check and current First Aid certification
Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, and organizational skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and child care administrative systems
Experience opening or expanding childcare programs is a strong asset
Class 4 Driver's License (preferred, not required)
