The Marketing & Market Access Manager is responsible for developing and executing integrated strategies that drive both the commercial success and patient access of generic pharmaceutical products across Canada. This role bridges marketing, pricing, reimbursement, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring products achieve optimal market uptake and sustained growth. The Manager acts as a key liaison between the company, payers, customers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities



Market Access



Develop and implement comprehensive market access, pricing, and reimbursement strategies for generic medicines. Prepare, submit, and track drug product submissions to provincial drug formularies and private payor drug plans for reimbursement. Engage with the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA) and other relevant bodies for pricing assessments and negotiations. Monitor and influence public and private payer policies, drug formularies, and reimbursement frameworks. Prepare and submit pricing dossiers, health economic evaluations, and reimbursement documentation in compliance with Canadian regulations. Collect, analyze, and report on pricing data, and anticipate pricing changes. Complete reporting to the relevant provincial authorities. Monitor healthcare policy changes and assess implications for access and pricing. Prepare materials for stakeholder engagement (e.g., payers, policymakers). Maintain internal tools and templates for access planning and pricing governance. Contribute to internal training and capability-building initiatives.

Marketing



Manage all new product launches from a product marketing perspective, including forecasting and product tracking. Develop and execute marketing strategies and campaigns to support the commercial launch and growth of generic pharmaceutical products. Conduct market research and landscape assessments to identify opportunities, threats, and competitive dynamics. Collaborate with sales, regulatory, medical affairs, and finance teams to align marketing and market access initiatives with business objectives. Communicate product value propositions to internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and payers. Track and report on marketing performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed for optimal impact. Lead the preparation and submission of long-term and annual product sales budgets and quarterly estimates. Manage complete lifecycle of product portfolio, including launch strategies, pricing and SKU optimization, market share and penetration targets through to product discontinuation. Monitor external market conditions and adjust launch activity timing accordingly. Support wholesaler setup and ensure finished goods samples are available prior to launch. Facilitate monthly launch forecast review meetings and communicate changes to stakeholders. Prepare regular reports on changing market dynamics and their impact. Manage competitive and industry intelligence to identify risks and opportunities. Work with Commercial Operations to develop product and sales promotions to reduce inventory obsolescence.

Cross-Functional & Strategic



Contribute to cross-functional teams for product commercialization, regulatory submissions, and quality initiatives. Manage relationships with consultants, agencies, and external partners supporting market access and marketing activities. Support RFP review, vendor selection, and contracting processes as needed. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and compliance within the team. Ensure Canadian market access requirements are integrated into global development plans.

Qualifications



Minimum of a University degree, preferably in Commerce, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Health Economics, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred). 5+ years of experience in market access, marketing, pricing, reimbursement, or government Experience in Product Management, preferably in the Generic Industry. Experience working with IQVIA data, SAP, and advanced Microsoft Excel. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and navigate conflicting priorities. Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a highly dynamic team environment. Creativity in problem-solving and understanding competitive activity. * Fluency in English; French language skills are a strong asset.
