Job Description

The Faculty of Open Learning & Career Development develops and delivers innovative and diverse educational programs for more than 5000 students annually to help them navigate the changing world of learning and work. Across the spectrum, the Faculty of Open Learning & Career Development offers 300+ courses that help people prepare for undergraduate and graduate study as well as professional development programs that help people build, advance, or change careers. The Manager, Marketing & Digital Content is responsible for leading the faculty's social media marketing efforts on LinkedIn and Facebook, developing, and implementing strategies that support and integrate marketing and communication efforts, and coordinating the development of creative assets for marketing campaigns and other promotional/business development needs. This position also, at times, mentors a co-op role and their contributions to social media activities and content development for campaigns.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage the marketing strategy for social media, print and/or digital marketing collateral and supporting web content.
  • Write creative ad copy and engaging content, publishing through the content management system.
  • Respond to queries through the social media accounts.
  • Work with third party vendors to execute effective digital marketing campaigns to increase awareness of our faculty and convert leads to registrations.
  • Measure and report on the performance of all social marketing campaigns and assess against goals, providing updates and recommendations to the Director, Marketing & Communications to ensure social media results are on target to deliver on objectives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders for the purposes of promoting our courses to current and prospective students.
Note

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Undergraduate degree plus two to five years' experience in digital marketing and/or communications (or an equivalent combination of training and experience) is required. Exceptional communication skills, including strong writing abilities, highly developed interpersonal, project management and leadership skills. Ability to act autonomously comfortably and consistently, exercise discretion, and show good judgement.
Assets

Experience using Adobe InDesign is preferred. Experience using social media management tools and media tracking (i.e., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Meltwater, Mish Guru, Wibbitz) considered an asset. Experience with web content writing/updating websites and graphic design (i.e., use of Adobe Photoshop, etc.) considered an asset.
