Work at CBC/Radio-Canada

At CBC/Radio-Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Our successes and accomplishments are driven by embodying and upholding values, which include creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance.
Do you think you have the ability and drive to keep up with this exciting, ever-changing industry? Whether it be in front of the camera, on air, online or behind the scenes, you would be joining a team that thrives on making connections and telling stories that are important to Canadians.
Your role
As a leader, inspiring those around you must come naturally. You feel compelled to challenge traditional ways of thinking and are focused on always doing things better and helping those around you do the same. We count on you to shape the culture that helps our people thrive individually and collectively — all while navigating a constantly evolving environment.
In this role, you will determine, develop and implement regional marketing and communications objectives for CBC/Radio-Canada French Services in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
You will ensure objectives are met and monitor their attainment by taking a 360° approach to oversee marketing and communications activities such as media and public relations, partnerships and experiential marketing, internal relations, interactive communications on social media, and conventional and digital marketing (awareness, consideration, conversion and engagement strategies).
You will organize and supervise all phases of marketing and communications campaigns.
You will analyze campaign impact and decide what action is required to achieve objectives.
You will represent the Corporation in the community and act as its official spokesperson.
You will establish and maintain relationships with all levels of management. You will advise programming teams on marketing and communications. You will determine and co-ordinate internal and external strategies to address their issues.
You will share and implement corporate communications strategies in your region.
Please note this is a 12-month temporary position.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • University degree in a marketing/communications-related field

  • Six to eight years’ relevant experience

  • Proven track record in developing and executing marketing/communications strategic plans, especially for digital marketing, including audience management, optimization, personalization and automation

  • In-depth knowledge of media and public relations, partnership and experiential marketing negotiations, print and digital graphic production, radio and television production and interactive social media communications

  • Ability to analyze various specialized studies and data, including key indicators for Facebook and Google advertising platforms and their applications

  • Solid experience in team management, including developing team potential and employees’ personal potential, motivating and guiding teams toward their objectives and leading them to success

  • Innovative, creative ability to launch, direct and mobilize

  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners

  • Good persuasive communication skills

  • Good writing skills

  • Solid grasp of the public broadcaster’s role and function

  • In-depth knowledge of the regions served (socio-demographics, politics, arts and entertainment, etc.)
