As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will develop strategies that enhance the capabilities, tools, and processes to scale manufacturing. Through collaboration with production and other cross-functional teams, you drive the implementation of continuous improvement and lean initiatives to support the evolution of our manufacturing processes and improve key metrics such as delivery, quality, and cost. You are responsible for building a strong team of skilled manufacturing engineers and tech developers, while demonstrating coaching and fostering behaviors that are aligned with Arc\xe2\x80\x99teryx culture and values.

If you were the Engineering Manager now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

    • In collaboration with Production and Quality management, you analyze work force, capital equipment and space requirements from Engineering perspectives to ensure that manufacturing capabilities support business growth
    • You are accountable for developing, evolving and maintaining all engineering end to end processes such as New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering Change Request (ECR), and our overarching go to market (GTM) process
    • You evolve and develop data systems to build reports on the teams KPIs to support your processes and provide clear actions to close gaps
    • You lead the formulation and implementation of studies and programs aimed at improving productivity and quality in manufacturing by focusing on manufacturing techniques, design for manufacturing (DFM), machine innovation and automation, continuous improvement, cost reduction, quality improvement, and performance measurement
    • You establish a structure to continually develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials , fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, construction methods, and quality control standards
    • You lead, coach, and empower a team of high performing Engineers and Manufacturing Tech Developers, balancing different skill sets and evolving each team member with strengths based leadership approach
    • You teach and coach lean and continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement, machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to remove waste and enhance the capability of existing processes
    • You oversee the partnership with our design, development and sourcing teams, coaching your teams to continue to partner and find the best way to work for mutual goals and objectives
    • You are a problem solver who can recognize bottlenecks within a process and influence cross-functional teams to work to breakdown organization silos to achieve our goals
    • You oversee the development, maintenance and improvement of labour standards (SAM) and costs to ensure all labour rates are set fairly and consistently according to time and skill required to give piecework employees the best opportunity to succeed and grow
    • You establish processes to properly evaluate root cause of manufacturing defects and failures with emphasis on future prevention
    • Youtakeonotherprojectsandresponsibilitiesconsistentwiththepositionandasrequired with the changing needs of the organization in support of business development

Are you our next Manufacturing Engineering Manager?

    • You have post-secondary education in mechanical or industrial engineering with 10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as Manufacturing or Production Engineer in a manufacturing environment
    • You have 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience leading and motivating a high performing team
    • You have previous experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), methods and process engineering, work studies, facility planning and cost estimation
    • You can set a clear strategy in support of the company vision, put plans together to deliver the vision, and communicate and align your team on the common vision and objective for optimal execution
    • You have excellent mechanical aptitude and have previous experience participating in the purchase, implementation and customization of equipment, machinery and tools
    • You have excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of CAD program and drafting skills
    • You have excellent ability to analyze complex data in order to draw meaningful conclusion
    • You have a proven track record in change management including ability to manage diverse personalities, cultures and behaviors
    • You have the ability to form strategic partnership cross-functionally in the face of conflicting priorities
    • You have good communication skills both verbally and in written
    • You are result driven, proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing innovative solutions
    • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
