 We are looking for a Manager, Long Range Planning, Studies and Resource Development to provide strategic direction to IOC as well as lead a team of experienced technical professionals in Strategic Mine Planning, Geoscience, Resource Development and Permitting. 
 This role is a great opportunity for an experienced individual with a strong technical background in Strategic Mine Planning, Geoscience or similar background including excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. This position is either residential based in Labrador City or in Montreal with ADHOC travel. 
 Reporting to the Manager, Mine Technical Services, and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will: 
 Be responsible for the development of a strong safety culture ensuring adherence to all relevant statutory regulations and Rio Tinto Iron Ore standards and policies 
 Demonstrate capability in all aspects of leading a team including but not limited to employee performance management, training and career development 
 Drive the strategic direction of IOC through the RioTinto Strategic Production Plans, IOC Life of Mine Plan,10 Year mine plan and developing an amazing resource through OBK, Approvals and Studies. 
 Work closely with the IOC Senior Leadership Team and IOC Executive Team to drive strategic business direction 
 Engage with Internal and External Stakeholders collaboratively and foster relationships with other departments and the community to achieve wider business objectives 
What you'll bring 
 A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team 
 Degree in Mining Engineering or a related Geoscience field. 
 Experience in Strategic Mine Planning 
 Experience in leading a multidisciplinary Mining Technical Team 
 People oriented, collaborative approach and positive attitude 
 Proven leadership qualities and prior experience in leading and developing large technical teams 
 Systems and Process-driven with disciplined approach to providing clarity through long term business horizons 
 Business and Commercial acumen 
 Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities 
 Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
