Overview

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a professional in the learning and development, adult education field with rich leadership experience to manage a highly skilled team responsible for providing internal staff with learning and development solutions to enhance workplace performance.

As a Manager of Learning and Development Services, you can apply your skills to lead and guide programs and courses that build the skills of our WorkSafeBC team \xe2\x94\x80 and in doing so contribute to our goals of promoting occupational health and safety and supporting people injured at work.

At this time, this is a hybrid role that will primarily work from home and occasionally attend the Richmond office.

What you\'ll do

As a manager of Learning and Development Services you will:

  • Lead a team of employees who are responsible for performance consulting, needs analysis, solution design, development, and delivery for new and existing staff
  • Support and manage multiple training deliverables on a daily basis and manage service level agreements with clients
  • Monitor quality and quantity of work performed, triage incoming requests and balance against resources, ensure staffing meets service demands, assess work flow, and determine priorities
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to determine their training and skill enhancement needs
  • Develop and implement business plans that support strategic objectives and divisional performance goals
  • Manage training services within a prescribed budget

  • Use project management skills to provide scope, definition, costing, resource allocation, and timeline projections for project implementation
  • Lead your team to maintain high levels of service and achieve objectives by creating a supportive working environment and promoting effective communication and teamwork
  • Use well-developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information, influence others, build relationships, and work collaboratively
  • Promote a service-oriented approach by identifying and evaluating client needs to deliver a balance of cost effective and quality solutions that fit their business needs
  • Monitor and work within a technical learning management system or a learning content management system
Your experience and educational background:
  • A degree in a discipline related to training or adult education
  • A minimum of five years of leadership experience, managing individuals and teams
  • A minimum of five years of experience working with principles of training and education
  • Expert knowledge of adult education, learning technologies, including learning management systems and/or learning content management systems, training, and staff development
  • Experience and/or knowledge of regulatory environments and workers compensation systems is an asset
