The Manager, Laboratory Services is responsible for the Laboratory Services team in the development, maintenance, and execution of standard day to day operating procedure (SOPs). This role will support the governance of all laboratory facilities across STEMCELL and will represent the Laboratory team as part of the Facilities Operations department.



Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, document, implement and maintain SOPs relating to day to day laboratory services including but not limited to glass wash, distribution of common lab consumables, waste management and general lab support across STEMCELLaAEURA(TM)s Facilities as required

Hire, coach, develop and evaluate the team. Set and lead the achievement of annual team goals, conduct performance reviews; make compensation recommendations for direct reports

Accountable for escalating operational issues in an effective manner to ensure Leadership awareness of problems impacting the operation, and for escalating all safety incidents as established by EH&S guidelines

Collaborate with the Procurement team to order and manage lab services, materials and supplies, process invoices and provide purchase status update

Manage material and supplies shipping and receiving activities in proper compliance with technical and safety standards and ensure that supplies and materials inventory are sufficiently stocked and ready for use

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelors degree with 5+ years of relevant experience

Knowledge of laboratory processes and operations

Experience leading a team of individual contributors

Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global environment
