RFP 26-001 - Manager, Inventory Control & Logistics
Location: 177 Tie Road, Tiverton, ON
Work Model: Hybrid (2 days remote)
Position Overview
The Manager, Inventory Control & Logistics is responsible for overseeing and optimizing inventory management and logistics operations through data-driven analysis, forecasting, and process improvement. This role ensures optimal stock availability while minimizing carrying costs and operational risk, supporting efficient and reliable supply chain operations.
The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with suppliers, warehouses, logistics providers, finance, and internal stakeholders to manage the full inventory lifecycle--from acquisition through storage and distribution--while leveraging ERP and inventory management systems to drive performance, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
This role is a senior individual contributor / functional lead, requiring strong analytical capability, systems expertise, and end-to-end understanding of inventory and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Planning & Optimization
Analyze historical demand, consumption trends, processing capacity, and incoming supply to forecast inventory requirements.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and mitigate shortages.
Balance inventory availability with cost efficiency to support operational and service-level objectives.
Inventory Control & Governance
Perform regular inventory audits, reconciliations, and variance analysis across multiple warehouse locations.
Manage inventory transfers between facilities and ensure accurate system records.
Identify root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
Liaise with suppliers, warehouses, and logistics partners to manage lead times, delivery schedules, and material flow.
Support coordination of inbound and outbound logistics activities to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of goods.
Monitor logistics performance and address issues impacting inventory availability or fulfillment.
Systems, Data & Process Improvement
Utilize inventory management systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools to manage inventory lifecycle and logistics data.
Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to inventory control, logistics workflows, and system usage.
Support system enhancements, testing, and data validation initiatives related to inventory and logistics operations.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
Prepare and present regular reports on inventory performance, KPIs, trends, and risks to management.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of backend inventory and logistics data.
Provide insights and recommendations to support informed operational and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Required Experience & Skills
Proven experience in inventory control, logistics, or materials management within a complex operational environment.
Strong understanding of inventory management, transportation, and logistics principles and their operational impact.
Demonstrated experience using inventory management software, ERP systems, and warehouse/logistics tools.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Power BI, and data analysis techniques.
Strong analytical, forecasting, and problem-solving skills.
Experience conducting inventory audits, reconciliations, and performance analysis.

Preferred / Asset Qualifications
Experience supporting system implementations or enhancements related to inventory or logistics.
Experience in regulated, large-scale, or public-sector environments.
Professional certification in supply chain, logistics, or materials management (e.g., APICS, CSCP, CPIM) is an asset.
