POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Manager of Infrastructure and Cyber Security Services is responsible for managing all network, communications, cyber security, storage and server-related infrastructure. The role involves developing and implementing IT operational and cyber security policies and procedures, assuring the safety of the City's data and information technology assets. This position serves as an internal cyber security consultant, providing oversight and guidance on cyber security initiatives across the City. As a key member of the Information Technology management team, you will provide leadership in the development of integrated management information systems and oversee the day-to-day management of the infrastructure and cyber security function within the department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline and/or equivalent level of knowledge, developed through a combination of education and experience. Five (5) or more years of experience in a senior advisory or technical capacity accountable for the design, implementation, management and maintenance of sophisticated network and communications, server, and security infrastructure and a minimum of two (2) years supervisory or managerial experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Considerable knowledge of IT infrastructure and cyber security operations and best practices, including the ability to establish and maintain a comprehensive cyber security program.

Time management and cost containment skills in directing day-to-day operations and managing projects. The position requires supervisory and management experience and the flexibility to deal with people, both internally and externally, on a variety of levels.

Ability to recognize, evaluate, make recommendations and assign resources with reference to organization information technology needs.

Considerable knowledge of budget management and working within the constraints of a Council approved budget.

Strong interpersonal and communications skills demonstrated through the ability to facilitate, network, research, analyze and resolve issues.

Ability to plan, assign, supervise, evaluate work of team members, including the ability to motivate and enable the career development of team members.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts and to represent the department as required.

Strong customer service skills and excellent communication skills, both oral and written, which includes preparation of research and statistical reports.

Ability to maintain complex systems and related documentation.
