WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS: Reporting to the Director, Inflight, the Manager, Inflight is responsible for the conduct and professional standards of the inflight group. They will identify deficiencies and develop strategies to ensure that flight attendants are mentored, trained and disciplined in accordance with Lynx Air policies and procedures and as prescribed by regulation and the Corporation. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Providing leadership and supervision to cabin crew
  • Development and implementation of strategic plans
  • Formulation of Inflight departmental policies
  • Researching and establishing Inflight procedures
  • Assuring a current and approved Flight Attendant Manual is in place
  • Assuring a current and approved flight attendant training program
  • Ensuring consistent and accurate application of all training programs as set forth by Transport Canada
  • The issuance of directives and notices to the flight attendants as required
  • The actioning and distribution of accident, incident, and other occurrence reports
  • The processing and actioning of any cabin crew reports
  • The supervision of cabin crew
  • Assuming any responsibilities delegated by the Operations Manager
  • Training of flight attendants in accordance with the approved training program
  • The maintenance of flight attendant training records
  • The development of safety features cards
  • Reviewing and evaluating new company policies and procedures and how they will be incorporated into training programs
  • Providing training and leadership on standards, procedures, expectations and/or concerns
  • Writing and reviewing all FAM amendments and bulletins and update existing content
  • Responsible for the preparation and management of the department\xe2\x80\x99s budget
  • Researching, responding to and following up on incident/hazard reports relating to inflight operations
  • The involvement in designing and reconfiguration of cabin interiors and galleys
  • Providing employee feedback regarding job performance and developing strategies to monitor, evaluate and uphold standards
  • The involvement in the recruiting process for Inflight team
  • Developing and implementing inflight standard operating procedures for new aircraft
  • Remain current as cabin crew
  • Liaison with other company departments
  • In his or her absence, all responsibilities for duties shall be delegated to another qualified individual, except that the knowledge requirements detailed under flight attendant manager qualifications may be demonstrated to the air operator rather than the Minister.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
  • Know such of the contents of the air operator\'s operations manual, air operator certificate and operations specifications as are necessary for the performance of the assigned duties
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Know such of the provisions of the Aeronautics Act, the Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards, as are necessary for the performance of the assigned duties
  • Demonstrate to the Minister that the person has the ability to fulfil the responsibilities of the position.
  • Licensing and certification as required by Transport Canada relating to Boeing 737 aircraft
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization and across all businesses
  • Possess the ability to work under pressure & independently
