Position Summary

Reporting to the Store Manager, the MIT is responsible for assisting the Store Manager in all store operations including, but not limited to: sales, management and training of Sales Associates, ensuring high levels of customer service, liaising with head office to ensure the timeliness of repairs and special orders, and monitoring inventory levels.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assistance with Staff Management:



Co-ordination of daily internal training and development activities for Sales Associates

Plan and oversee recruitment activities to meet the staffing needs of the store

Responsible for hiring and terminating staff

Conduct interviews of candidates for selected roles within the store

Organize and conduct corrective action of Sales Associates

Approve staff timesheets and requests for time off

Ensure a full staff is employed at all times

Manage the scheduling requirements of the store

Ensure safety precautions in the workplace are followed by staff

Assistance with Operational Management:



Responsible for opening and closing the store

Manage profit and loss, sales budgets, and goals

Facility management, safety, and security of all customers and employees on store premises, loss prevention, and banking

Acts as the primary key holder of the store and may be called to the store before, during, or after business hours in the event of an emergency

Product management, including ordering, receiving, price changes, and handling damaged products and returning them to Head Office

Follow administrative guidelines

Ensure accurate records for repairs and special orders

Manage inventory and coordinate proper scheduling of inbound and outbound merchandise

Sales Generation:

Responsible for meeting monthly, quarterly, or annual sales goals, depending on the Company's cycle

Setting individual sales goals (quotas), holding contests for employees, and/or offering sales promotion

Other:

Assist on the sales floor as required

Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

MITs work in direct retail establishments. Such stores tend to have a maximum of 5-7 employees on duty at any given time. Assistant Managers are required to stand for long periods of time and perform some computer work.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
