The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Manager, Imaging Data. Reporting to the Operations Director, Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics (KCNI), with matrix reporting to the Staff Scientist, Imaging Methodology, Brain Health Imaging Centre (BHIC), this role is responsible for the strategic direction, implementation, and optimization of imaging data infrastructure and services across CAMH, leveraging high-performance computing resources to accelerate discovery and innovation.
The Manager will oversee the operational, technical, and compliance aspects of imaging data management--including ingestion, curation, de-identification, and storage of neuroimaging datasets (e.g., MRI, PET, EEG). You will lead the design and evolution of scalable infrastructure to enable secure, high-throughput access to research imaging data while ensuring alignment with open science standards and institutional goals. The successful candidate will manage a technical team, collaborate closely with researchers and clinicians, and serve as an institutional leader in imaging data innovation.
This position is based at CAMH's College Street site.
Key Accountabilities:
Lead the design and implementation of scalable, standards-based neuroimaging data systems and architecture, including integration with high-performance computing environments to support advanced analytics and large-scale processing.
Oversee end-to-end workflows for imaging data ingestion, quality control, de-identification, metadata harmonization, and integration with centralized data lakes.
Manage imaging infrastructure tools and platforms (e.g., XNAT, Flywheel, PACS connectors) to support multimodal research initiatives.
Supervise and mentor imaging informatics staff, supporting a high-performance and learning-oriented team culture.
Collaborate with researchers, IT, privacy, and governance teams to ensure compliance with institutional policies and legal frameworks (e.g., PHIPA, GDPR, REB).
Monitor emerging technologies and standards in imaging informatics, and evaluate their feasibility for adoption.
Represent CAMH in cross-institutional data-sharing networks and national imaging infrastructure collaborations.
Contribute to budget planning, resource allocation, vendor management, and infrastructure procurement for imaging-related needs.
Promote FAIR data practices, reproducibility, and machine-learning readiness across imaging workflows.
Job Requirements
Master's or Ph.D. in Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in medical imaging data management, including deep expertise in MRI workflows.
At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
Advanced knowledge of imaging data standards and tools (e.g., DICOM, BIDS, de-identification frameworks, QC pipelines).
Hands-on experience with platforms such as XNAT, Flywheel, or commercial PACS systems.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and imaging software (e.g., FSL, ANTs, SPM).
Understanding of data architecture, privacy regulations, open science frameworks, semantic technologies, and high-performance computing environments
Experience navigating hospital and research environments, preferably in neuroscience or mental health.
Certifications such as CIIP, CDMP, PMP/PRINCE2, or TOGAF are considered assets.
Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
