The TD Securities Business Resilience team takes a dedicated approach to business recovery. We build on the principles of business continuity but extend much further to help improve TD Securities\' infrastructure, so our businesses can address challenges, deter issues, balance risks and bounce back from disruption more quickly.
By using your practical experience, our team provides businesses with the tools they need to build solutions that work in real life, to reset and recover with as little disruption as possible.
We develop resiliency strategies and playbooks that keep our businesses strong, adaptable and operating in significant sources of threats and stresses regardless of the situation
Operational Resilience has been increasingly important for the firm to grow stronger, sustainable and resilient in the face of disruption. The role is a challenging one: become the driver to achieve a resilient business in an organization rapidly growing in scale and complexity.

Job Requirements

  • Background in, and understanding of Financial Services, preferably Operations, Crisis Management, Scenario Planning and Business Analysis
  • Ability to articulate risk management concepts in business language
  • Knowledge and experience of working with relevant operational resilience regulations
  • Experienced in managing stakeholders including C-Level
  • Excellent written, communication and organisational skills
  • Experience of managing and embedding business continuity and operational resilience within a scaling organization
  • Experience of Framework and Process improvement
  • Keen eye for attention to detail and a generally collaborative approach.

Job Details

Operational Resilience Policy and Procedures:
  • Work closely with the Business, Business Governance and Controls office and Risk & Compliance to ensure that TDS is compliant globally with regulatory expectations and policies at all times.
Operational Resilience Governance Structure:
  • Support the operational resilience steering committees and relevant working groups to be informed of and manage the Operational Resilience activities across TDS. Maintain membership of our governance forums, document meeting minutes and track action items to closure.
Identify and map Important Business Services:
  • Work with the various department heads, service owners and business subject matter experts to ensure that TDS Important Business Services are aligned with the business strategy and mapped end-to-end including core processes, dependencies, vendors and IT systems.
Scenario Building and Analysis:
  • Maintain and develop the scenario library and work with experts and risk partners to build new severe but plausible scenarios to facilitate the operational resilience stress testing exercises.
Impact Tolerance Testing and Reporting:
  • Plan, coordinate and lead the scenario testing exercises across various service lines, capture scenario testing output, generate management reports and obtain governance approvals as required.
Executives and/or Board Updates:
  • Prepare updates for the Board, C-Suite management and the Risk and Governance forums on the progress of the operational resilience initiatives.
External and Industry Engagement:
  • TDS participates in numerous Industry forums and participation in these and understanding key trends amongst peer firms will be encouraged as part of this role.
Use of and creation of metrics to support program monitoring:
  • Support the mapping of existing KRIs, RAS measures for resilience measurement and monitoring and the development of potential new metrics that define trigger based activities and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain project tracker, RAID logs and ensure the team delivers against set timelines and objectives.
Business Continuity and Crisis Management:
  • Support the TD Securities business continuity management program and provide coverage as part of a global team for incident and crisis management.
