Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Manager of Human Resources works collaboratively with the management team across the Better Living family of organizations to effectively build organizational capability in support of the strategic priorities. You will lead the Human Resources and
Volunteer Engagement functions, fostering a healthy, safe, inclusive, engaged and respectful workplace. Responsibilities will include HR policies and procedures, recruitment and selection, health and safety, labour and employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management and other related activities or projects.

The successful

candidate for this position must possess the following qualifications:



Undergraduate or post-graduate education with a focus on human resources management, or combination of equivalent education and professional work experience required. Professional designation of Certified Human Resources Practitioner (CHRP) an asset. Minimum three (3) years of progressive generalist or management experience in a human resources role; experience in the not-for-profit sector an asset. Ontario Ministry of Labour approved Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) certification an asset. Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening. Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a vehicle for the purposes of business travel.

The successful candidate for this position must be able to:



Respond to workforce needs and business issues utilizing analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills. Deliver key HR programs including talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation and benefits, performance management, talent assessment, succession planning, training and development, organizational effectiveness and health and safety. Establish HR practices, policies, and structures to support business objectives. Ensure that all HR practices and policies are delivered fairly and consistently, according to statutory and regulatory requirements. Design and implement engaging employee and volunteer recruitment and retention plans. Nurture a culture of 'organizational citizenship' that supports the workforce to lead, grow and improve the delivery of services. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of and compliance with contractual obligations as outlined in the organization's collective agreements. Provide shared oversight to the payroll management activities of the organization to ensure payroll and benefits are seamlessly delivered. Demonstrate integrity in managing confidential and sensitive information without exception. Successfully complete Vulnerable Sector Screening check.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
