Our client is seeking a Manager, Human Resources & Payroll to provide leadership across HR and payroll operations in a national, not-for-profit-driven organization. This role supports a respectful and well-governed workplace by ensuring people practices, compensation, and payroll services align with organizational values, compliance requirements, and operational needs.
Reporting to senior leadership, the Manager acts as an advisor, leads a dedicated HR and Payroll team, and supports leaders and staff through people-centred practices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead recruitment, performance management, recognition, and succession planning programs
Oversee HR policies, employee relations, workplace health & safety, and legislative compliance
Manage and mentor HR and Payroll teams, fostering collaboration and continuous learning
Oversee compensation frameworks, pay equity, benefits, and payroll operations
Act as the primary liaison with payroll service providers and support system improvements
Provide workforce reporting and insights to support planning, engagement, and organizational effectiveness
Champion equity, inclusion, and respectful workplace practices across the organization
Qualifications
Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; CHRP/CHRL preferred
5+ years of progressive HR and payroll experience, including people leadership
Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices
Experience in not-for-profit or purpose-driven organizations is an asset
