Duties


----------


Duties include, but are not limited to:



Managing the day-to-day operations of a Canadian Forces housing site which includes but is not limited to, people and budget management, technical services, customer service management, and day to day office administration.



Leading a team that manages a portfolio of residential housing units, and oversees the ongoing maintenance and betterment of this portfolio on behalf of the Canadian Forces Housing Agency.



Ensuring the consistent application of policies and standards at the local site, for monitoring and reporting on operational performance, and for leading a team in the provision of cost-effective, timely and quality services for military members and their families. In Yellowknife, the HSC Manager is also responsible for providing housing services to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) members and public servants.



Supervising a team of employees working in customer services, technical services and business operations.

As a Special Operating Agency reporting to the Department of National Defence (DND), CFHA contributes to the quality of life of CAF members and their families through the provision of housing services, and through the responsible and sustainable management of the Department's housing infrastructure. We are a team of 380 federal public servants who work hard to meet the needs of the Canadian Armed Forces families living in DND housing. We have close to 230 employees at our Housing Services Centers across Canada and 150 employees at our Head Office in Ottawa.



CFHA Yellowknife is a dynamic team of 5 full-time employees. We work together to provide housing services to approximately 190 Canadian Forces and RCMP families (members and civilians). The immediate need is to staff one English Essential position on an indeterminate basis at the CFHA Yellowknife location. A pool will be created and could be used for future needs at the CFHA Yellowknife location.

EXPERIENCE:

EX1. Experience providing recommendations to management and stakeholders on operational issues in support of business objectives pertaining to one of the following:

Client service delivery Project delivery Procurement Asset management

EX2. Experience supporting operational programs or services*.

EX3. Experience supporting or leading financial management activities related to program or project finances.

EX4. Experience managing human resources, including at least 2 of the following activities:

Supporting and motivating staff Delegating tasks Monitoring performance Coaching and development


Supporting operational programs or services is defined as having performed at least 2 of the following activities: Resolving customer complaints. Planning, coordinating, or managing contracts. Program/project planning and implementation/project delivery. Asset management. Human and financial resource planning and management. Management of residential housing units in accordance with applicable policies, directives and regulations. Administration of rents applicable to housing, including annual rent adjustments.
