Position Overview





As one of two

Hospitality Managers

, this position holds a key leadership role at CMH, bridging the gap between lodge operations and the Banff-based Hospitality team. This role supports and mentors Lodge Managers and Assistant Lodge Managers, fostering operational excellence and enhancing team capabilities through hands-on guidance and training.



With oversight across multiple departments including culinary, bar, spa, retail and rooms, the Hospitality Manager ensures that every lodge delivers an exceptional, consistent guest experience that reflects CMH's high standards.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Partner with Area Management to foster a lodge culture that prioritizes safety, exceptional employee and guest experiences, environmental stewardship, community responsibility, and strong financial performance. Support the development and implementation of strategic objectives that align with CMH's overall business goals. Set and monitor key performance metrics for Lodge Management to drive team productivity and service excellence. Mentor and support Lodge Management in understanding and delivering CMH hospitality standards. Develop and refine CMH hospitality standards and service programs to ensure consistency and excellence across all lodges. Collaborate with the Employee Experience team and Hospitality Development Manager to recruit, onboard, and train new lodge leadership team members. Establish training timelines and procedures to ensure efficient lodge onboarding and role clarity for all hospitality staff. Lead the continued development and expansion of the hospitality program, including service innovations, departmental strategy, and future-state planning. Provide hands-on support during lodge visits, addressing operational issues and enhancing guest experiences. Stay informed on trends in the ski and luxury tourism industries to inform program development. Actively participate in leadership meetings and cross-departmental initiatives. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and aligning with organizational goals. Support CMH's Occupational Health and Safety policies and compliance initiatives, including WorkSafe BC, WHMIS, and other relevant regulations. Champion CMH Sustainability and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, integrating these values into daily operations and team culture. Provide field support to guests and employees, as operational needs require.


Minimum Qualifications



5+ years of progressive experience in hospitality or tourism leadership, ideally in remote lodge or hotel environments. Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams. Strong operational knowledge of key hospitality areas such as food and beverage, guest services, spa, and housekeeping. Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills. Able to travel regularly to remote lodge locations and work flexible hours during peak seasons. Experience with safety, DEI, and environmental practices is an asset. Education or certification in hospitality, tourism, or leadership is an advantage. Valid driver's license with clean driver's abstract.


Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualities



Extensive working knowledge of hospitality with a confident understanding of culinary, bar, spa, rooms, and guest experience positions. Demonstrates integrity, discretion, critical thinking, adaptability, and effective problem solving. Positive and collaborative working style with an ability to build meaningful relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Is organized with clear attention-to-detail, with strategic planning skills and abilities. Able to communicate at a high level in a clear, effective, and timely manner. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and professional working relationships. Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as an ability to learn other relevant software platforms. Able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities in a complex and fast-paced environment with seasonal workload fluctuations and changing priorities. Trustworthy, goal-oriented, respectful, and self-directed in completing the core functions of the role. Confidence to interact with all levels of the company in a hub-and-spoke model in which many individuals are remote.


Working Conditions



Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a regular basis. This position requires you to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business. Employees are required to find their own way to and from the lodge or helicopter staging area, which includes travel on logging roads. Extensive travel is required throughout the year (approx. 100 days) for lodge visits, company meetings and workshops. During these times of change, this position requires flexibility and willingness to accept new responsibilities and potentially transfer others.



Compensation





A competitive compensation package will be provided including an attractive base salary between $84,000-$88,000 which is based upon qualifications, experience, and skill set, as well as an annual incentive program. Further details will be discussed in a personal interview.
