Job Summary: The Manager of Health Information Services (HIS), Registration Services and Information Services is a multi-department leadership role with key responsibilities in supporting safe, quality care through documentation management from the patient\'s journey of care. The Manager is committed to service excellence through the information life-cycle by ensuring accurate, dependable and secure collection (Registration), maintenance and dissemination (Health Information Services) of patient information in a professional, caring and confidential manner. Health Information Services demands stewardship and trusteeship of health information, including having a key role in overseeing that a patient\'s rights to privacy and access to their own health information are safeguarded. Patient Registration and Information Services (Switchboard & Information Desk) demand versatility of communication and is the first point of contact between patients and their families and health-care services. It is expected these services are delivered with a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality and compassion. Critical Codes and other competing priorities demand a level of attention and detail; and the information gathered and shared has direct impact upon downstream application, services, and provision of care. The Manager is also accountable for accurate healthcare data collection at a local, regional and national level for the purpose of supporting decision making associated with the delivery of individual patient and population-based outcomes. Data and decision support is an important aspect of the practice of clinical informatics and for the provision of provincial health services. Experience: Experience, at an operational level, as a leader who has developed and led innovative planning and programs in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
5+ years of experience in healthcare leadership preferred. Qualifications: Licensed and in good standing with professional association and/or regulatory body, if applicable; Undergraduate degree or diploma in business, office administration, or Health Information Management or equivalent combination of education and experience; Valid Class 5 Driver\'s license.
