Manager: Gwynne Valley Ski Area

Full-time (December- End of Season); additional part-time hours as needed during off season.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager of the Gwynne Valley Ski Area is responsible for the oversight, leadership, and daily execution of all operations. This position will be an hourly wage while in operation and will require weekend work. Additional hourly wages may be in effect during the off season and include attending Board Meetings, AGM, online meetings and may include short conferences.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The successful candidate for this position must have proficient computer skills with Google Docs/Sheets and be willing and able to learn additional technology as needed such as website updates and social media communication.

Speak, read, and write English proficiently.

Skiing, snowboarding, familiarity with a ski area, and/or previous leadership roles are considered an asset.

A mature leader that can maintain appropriate and professional relationships with patrons, staff, and business partners.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize safety, and assist in executing task-oriented daily duties where needed.

Willing and able to communicate expectations, hold staff accountable both verbally and in writing, and lead by example.

Maintain a culture of safety both on and off the hill.

Responsible for preparation of seasonal hiring packages, participating in interviews, orientation, seasonal employee paperwork and filing.

Responsible for scheduling staff.

Organization of evening rentals and staffing, special events, and fundraising, and inventory.

Provide communication with concession staff regarding opening/closures/rentals, cleanliness, and inspections.
