Position Summary:

The Manager, Global Scope 3 Emissions is responsible for developing and maintaining McCain Foods Scope 3 emissions inventory in co-operation with data teams, and for co-ordination of the functional workstreams required to meet our Scope 3 emissions reduction targets.

Working Location and Travel:

Location Florenceville/Toronto/ Chiacgo. Moderate travel required acpss North America

Core Accountabilities/Outcomes:

• Working in close collaboration IT and other subject matter experts, develop, maintain and improve the existing Scope 3 greenhouse gas data model by which the greenhouse gas footprint will be measured, monitored and reported on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure greenhouse gas modelling is aligned with best practice accounting and the evolving rules and regulations for the measurement and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions.
• Own the overall scope 3 greenhouse gas reduction strategy, ensure that functional leads develop and deliver reduction roadmaps for their respective functions (e.g. potatoes, logistics, procurement) that are aligned with the global greenhouse gas model so that improvements can be tracked
• Own the definition of scope 3 greenhouse gas emission strategies for dairy products and frying oils, engaging with suppliers and developing supplier-specific projects leading to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions that can be reflected on products delivered to McCain.
• Support the development and use of Product Specific Emission Factors and LCAs where necessary to understand the impact of emissions reduction projects, and communicate with customers and other stakeholders as required
• Support supplier engagement as a subject matter expert in discussions and supplier specific greenhouse gas reduction workstreams
• Accountable for developing reporting on function specific progress towards greenhouse gas reduction targets
• Report Scope 3 emissions as required for external disclosure (e.g. sustainability report, CDP, customer etc.)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree with a preferred focus in Environmental Sciences, Engineering or similar field
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a technical role with greenhouse gas accounting in an industrial context
• Experience with Scope 3 emissions, greenhouse gas reduction projects and supplier engagement
• Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change and an aptitude to work effectively globally.
• A strong interest in sustainability and environment is critical
