The Opportunity:
The Global Mobility Manager’s combined objective is to oversees the day-to-day Operations of Global Mobility, leveraging their expertise to evaluate, plan and mitigation any risks for these complex issues from strategy to execution. The Manager will be responsible to operationalize all Global Mobility processes and practices using key HR Evolution strategies. In addition, this role will lead and support global and regional markets as required.

Service Excellence

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Global Mobility Team.
  • Coach and mentor, the team and encourage them to take ownership of their development. Participate in the creation and delivery of global mobility training sessions.
  • Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties.
  • Participate and lead projects to review and evolve current Global Mobility programs, policies, and/or guidelines.
Problem Solving
  • Works closely with the Global Mobility Team to plan and deliver forecasting and budgeting information, relating to immigration and relocation.
  • Work independently and with regional Global Mobility team members to deliver technically accurate and sound guidance and decision making to stakeholders on all aspects of global mobility related activities (immigration, tax and relocation), including those of a complex nature where initiative and creativity are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations.
  • Evolve all programs, policies and procedures relating to domestic, cross border and global relocation and assignments and ensure consistent interpretation and application of global mobility programs, policies & procedures and provide recommendations for non-standard situations, creating self-serve options and using technology to automate processes.
Business Engagement
  • Provide subject matter expertise and counseling to Business Leaders and HR Business Partners regarding domestic and international global mobility best practices and company policies.
  • Create, deliver and provide subject matter expertise on comprehensive multi-year cost estimates for potential global mobility activity (new hires, permanent transfers, temporary assignments, etc.) to aid in business case development.
  • Provide recommendations on current and potential immigration and tax issues for cross border travelers and ensure compliance on global Tax and Social Security requirements.
  • Act as the point of contact for all key stakeholders related to the various Global Mobility initiatives (HR Business Partners, Finance department, Payroll, Benefits, etc.), focusing on building trusted relationships.
  • Provide guidance on global mobility activities (immigration, tax, relocation, etc.) as they relate to Merger & Acquisitions.
  • Lead and Support select global and regional markets as required and new expansion legal entity projects with day-to-day hands on support and advice.
  • Spearhead extensive India COE Project to align it with Global Mobility best practices, build infrastructure, roll out change management training and support day to day operations
Immigration
  • Develop and monitor immigration protocols for business visitors and employees to ensure compliance with immigration legislation in all regions.
  • Develop, communicate and provide guidance on individual immigration strategies and associated fees for new hires, transferees, short term business travelers and current employees, etc. inbound to all regions.
  • Develop, validate and monitor current and future immigration strategies & associated fees for individual employees with immigration activity globally.
  • Manage and track immigration related activities and expiry dates of short-term business travelers and employees inbound globally.
  • Advise stakeholders on full range of global immigration applications as well as coordinate and review the submission of documents.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to stakeholders regarding complex immigration cases.
  • Keep current as Brexit policies change and work with Global Mobility team members to prepare Brexit Assessment & Risk Analysis for the 25+ countries within the EMEA region in which we do business.
  • Collaborate with Global Mobility team members to recommend and implement next steps for impacted EMEA business visitors and employees.
Tax
  • Coordinate and monitor tax support activities in accordance with global mobility policies, procedures and practices.
  • Partner with internal Payroll and global mobility vendors to ensure accurate payroll reporting.
Relocation
  • Independently and with Global Mobility team members manage all relocation and assignment requests and activities globally, including assignments of a complex nature.
  • Exercise judgment in making decisions and counsel Business, HR and transferees regarding global mobility policies and processes as required.
  • Prepare relocation and assignment package to accompany the job offer.
  • Manage process for relocations and assignments ensuring that overall program objectives are achieved
  • Facilitate extensions, localizations, repatriations, terminations, as it relates to relocations and assignments.
  • Monitor and provide ongoing reporting of ongoing relocations and assignments to stakeholders.
Vendor Management
  • Responsible for global mobility vendor management (immigration, tax and relocation) globally.
  • Liaise with all immigration, tax, relocation partners and legal authorities to ensure timely, seamless and simplified methods are utilized.
  • Audit and process invoices for payment and provide reports as required and participate in local vendor sourcing or RFP’s as required.

Your Professional Experience:
  • Technical/Legal Knowledge: relevant immigration technical skills and knowledge
  • Project management skills: experience managing transitions and implementation projects is preferable, with ability to analyze, define and communication processes.
  • HR client account management experience: ability to think strategically about global mobility strategies and organizational priorities, ability to present in front of internal stakeholders and to manage escalations effectively.
  • Business Development: demonstrable corporate acumen, motivated to improve services for the team and proactively contribute to business development engagements. By restructuring immigration advisory services with relocation consulting services, we are transforming the way that we deliver Global Mobility services across the globe.


What It Takes:

  • 5 – 10 years overseeing corporate global immigration, tax and relocation programs at a Manager level.
  • 5+ years of experience managing resolution of complex global tax issues.
  • GMS Certification is preferred.
  • Experience in non-immigrant and immigrant visas and permanent applications Globally.
  • Understanding of global immigration legislation and employment laws.
  • In-depth Experience with global markets
  • Broad knowledge of international tax, cross border payroll, tax equalization, hypo-tax and cost of living allowances including exchange rate fluctuations and inflation factors, etc.
  • Excellent leadership skills, ideally management, coaching and training of stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and customer care skill with a focus on empathy and sensitivity to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion around intercultural complexities.
  • Customer oriented, diplomatic and proven negotiation skills, with strong critical thinking.
  • Experience in researching, analyzing, designing, delivering and effective administration of employee mobility, tax and immigration programs and initiatives, both domestic and international.
  • Experience in the analysis and development of reports to monitor the trends, cost, and status of immigration, tax, relocation and vendor services.
  • Excellent operational and vendor management skills for Immigration, Tax and Relocation.
  • Proactive planning, executing, and multi-tasking skills with demonstrated ability to quickly re-prioritize with agility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while closely collaborating with the Global Mobility team members.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and exercise independent judgement in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Strong SAP hands on experience and report writing.
