This is a permanent position.This position will be responsible for developing policy/guidelines and set the direction for geometallurgy for Vale Base Metals. Manager, Geometallurgy will guide and lead the business as a technical expert in metallurgy, process engineering, process technology, process support and processing business priorities. They will act as a change agent for corporate office and/or operations with the potential to lead focused teams on strategic and technical improvement initiatives.Additionally, in this position you will\xe2\x80\xa6Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the geometallurgy program in Vale Base Metals with a team of geologists, mineralogists, metallurgists, and technologists at Vale Base Metals.Manage all activities related to geometallurgical studies of future ores at Sheridan Park.Interface with mine projects for drill core sample selection and reporting of data.Supervise metallurgical testing according to the established operational flowsheets/conditions.Determine metallurgical risks (impurities, poor recovery or low concentrate grades) and develop mitigating measures.Develop geometallurgical models for new/existing orebodies and apply for production planning/forecasting for throughput and recovery.Develop and supervise monitoring processes to evaluate the accuracy of the models.Conduct gap analysis between expected and actual metallurgy and report on the reconciliation of the models at all timescales.Communicate business objectives, goals and results to management, peers, and subordinates.Maintain appropriate scientific resources and develop future technology leaders by employee recruitment, development, coaching, mentoring, manpower distribution, performance evaluation.About YouEducation:Master or Ph.D. in Geology, Chemical, Metallurgical or Mining Engineering.Experience:Over 15 years of relevant experience(P.Geo.) and Process (metallurgical & chemical, Mineral) Engineering (P. Eng). is preferred.SkillDeep and diverse exposure and experience with Base Metals processing plants, assets, and projects.Extensive global network with processing researchers, consultants, and professionals.
