Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Events, the Manager of Future Student Services will provide strategic leadership and oversight for future student engagement and recruitment services. This position is responsible to lead and implement the recruitment plan and strategies within CNC's SEM Plan to achieve its enrolment goals and proactively promote the College. Working closely with marketing and the College community a collaborative shared responsibility will guide and facilitate recruitment work at all campuses including Community & Continuing Education, youth engagement, and external community partners; the Manager will ensure excellent delivery of student transition and prospect services in a timely and consistent manner with a high service level to future students. The Manager will ensure student recruitment-related functions are coordinated within the structure and scope of an integrated recruitment plan cascading from the College's Strategic and SEM (Strategic Enrolment Management) Plans; this may at times occur within a matrix management model.

The Manager will support the goals, strategies, and implementation plans specific to recruitment activities at CNC, advancing the organization as a best-in-class performer among post-secondary institutions in Canada. The Manager will lead by demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills to build meaningful professional relationships with future students, faculty, administrators, high school counsellors and administrators, agencies, and other key community partners. This position plays a critical role in the success of CNC's SEM activities, and may chair, co-chair or hold membership in committees. This role will oversee the coordination and planning of recruitment and other activities with SEM-related functions across the College, ensuring recruitment campaigns and event plans are aligned with marketing and reflective of the program, strategies of the College, and recruitment and retention goals. This position will hold a leadership position within Marketing and Recruitment and guides the activities of staff in the future student portfolios as well as leads and maintains the relationships and recruitment strategy with the community campuses. The Manager oversees a team of Future Student Advisors, an Administrative Assistant, as well as Campus Ambassadors. The Manager will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners The Manager will promote a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.
Specific Duties
Provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction when planning, developing, implementing CNC's recruitment plan and initiatives. Recruit, develop, supervise, and mentor staff that support future student services. Develop and implement an institutional strategy for domestic student recruitment in line with the College's SEM plan and enrolment goals with outcomes approach, key performance indicators, and assessment measures. Develop and maintain exceptional professional relationships with external College partners including school districts, community campuses, high school counselors, teachers, administrators and agencies. Oversee the coordination and execution of all recruitment activities ensuring support of the organization's strategy, including exceptional internal and external relations, quality control, and brand alignment. In close collaboration with the Director, manages the leadership, development, and implementation of the College's Youth Engagement and Transition Strategy. Work closely with deans, associate deans, directors, community campus managers, faculty program coordinators, and marketing personnel to guide an all-College approach to recruitment that supports broader academic program needs throughout an organization-wide structure, which at times may include working within a matrix management model. Act as the primary recruitment contact with community campuses on and off campus. Work closely with marketing, institutional research, and admissions to align recruitment work with current enrolment and priority programs. Create pointed strategies for identified target markets. Establish institutional collaborative priorities for staff to engage in proactive recruitment strategies, including faculty and community campuses. Initiate, co-develop, facilitate, and support program and/or faculty-level recruitment activities. Work collaboratively with internal partners who work within Indigenization to support the development and implementation of a robust indigenous student recruitment strategy and plan. Work collaboratively and align with international department in relation to the international student recruitment strategy. Lead recruitment projects from planning to implementation. Develop and update student recruitment materials in coordination with Marketing. Promote BCCAT and other educational transfer agreements. Contribute to the establishment, review and re-alignment of key performance indicators with respect to student recruitment activities and the enrolment funnel. Support best practices in the provision of guidance and recommendations for recruitment activities that support student recruitment and retention in a SEM environment. Prepare, research, and coordinate the execution of on-going and campaign-based recruitment activities in support of the College's recruitment and retention strategies, including new market exploration. Evaluate creative needs and requests from College departments, and recommend human, financial, and/or consulting resources to effectively meet needs across the organization. Work with finance and budget officers to manage and maximize budgets for recruitment activities. Co-lead the Applicant & Inquiry SEM Council and serve as a member of other committees as appropriate and directed. Actively participate in the development and implementation of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) initiative, User Experience (UX) Website Projects, and other projects as directed. Participate in institutional projects relevant to the role of future student services. Understand and participate in the administration of the provisions of the collective agreements. Actively participates and engages in SEMM professional development initiatives. Serve as a designate for the Director as required. Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a related field such as education, marketing, or business. Graduate education is an asset. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including two years in a leadership position. Excellent planning and project management skills: must be able to develop strategic and operational plans for all elements of the portfolio and to develop institutional support for those plans for domestic and markets. Experience in student recruitment and student technological platforms, including Customer Relationship Management Systems and Student Information Systems (Colleague preferred). Demonstrated ability effectively lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team. Ability to work with and manage people in a unionized environment. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Excellent communications (oral and written) and presentation skills. Proven experience in a SEM environment is a distinct asset, or similar experience in an environment requiring close coordination between marketing activities and operating areas' objectives. Post-secondary experience is an asset. A high degree of proficiency in computer skills and relevant post-secondary software utilization. Hold valid BC class 5 driver's license.
