What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Develop a human resources plan for staff for both sites to ensure future staffing needs are met and determines the ongoing credentialing requirements for Food and Nutrition Services staff. Identify and articulate the strategic direction for professional development and ensures the implementation of approved strategies to achieve these goals. Develop nutrition services goals and objectives.
  • Prepare, approve, administer, and monitor the Food and Nutrition operating budget of both sites. Develop and monitor financial and operating reports, annual reports and workload measurements. Monitor the utilization of Nutrition Services using a workload measurement tool.
  • Oversee a quality monitoring system and provides information and support to programs regarding required changes in practices. Direct the implementation and evaluation of continuous quality improvement. Develop implements and evaluates the department\xe2\x80\x99s business plans. Oversee service agreements between the Food and Nutrition Services Department and outside suppliers.
  • Establish systems to ensure professional standards for quality and service delivery within Food and Nutrition Services. Participates with clinical dieticians to ensure clinical nutrition services practice guidelines and policies and procedures are adhered to. Ensure professional standards, practice guidelines and the code of ethics are understood, monitored and maintained. Monitor practice trends and makes recommendations on new skill requirements. Identify opportunities to promote and support innovations in practice. Identify resource requirements for continuing education and professional development.
  • Maintain a system of policy development to ensure policies pertinent to Food and Nutrition Services are consistent with professional and practice guidelines and corporate policy. Maintain an awareness of legislation governing clinical practice.



What you bring


Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related Health Sciences Administration from a recognized university.
  • Completion of a Dietitian\xe2\x80\x99s of Canada accredited Dietetic Internship.
  • Seven years\xe2\x80\x99 recent related experience in a complex health care or institution environment including a minimum of five years\xe2\x80\x99 in a managerial or leadership capacity.
  • Registrant of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia and member of the Dietitians of Canada.

Skills & Knowledge:
  • Ability to formulate and implement overall strategic plans consistent with organizational direction.
  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission\xe2\x80\x99s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
  • Supports team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
  • Works collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure ICS lens applied holistically.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Regular, Full-time (1.00 FTE)
Salary Range: $96,429 - $138,617/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate\xe2\x80\x99s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
