What You'll Do



As Manager, Fleet Services, you will:



Oversee Cochrane's entire fleet including procurement, maintenance, repairs, lifecycle management, and disposal Ensure compliance with Federal National Safety Code (NSC) and Provincial Commercial Vehicle legislation Maintain accurate fleet inventory, databases, and reporting on costs, fuel, and maintenance Lead, coach, and support the Fleet Services team, including hiring, training, and performance management Prepare and manage annual capital and operating budgets while identifying efficiencies Coordinate inspections, maintenance, and repairs with internal staff and external vendors Keep all vehicles licensed, insured, safe, and road-ready Drive continuous improvement in fleet safety, technology, and sustainability practices

What You Bring



Post-secondary education in Transportation, Logistics, Fleet Management, or Vehicle Maintenance (equivalencies considered) 5+ years of fleet management experience, ideally within a municipal setting 5+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized workplace Strong knowledge of fleet legislation, procurement practices, and maintenance standards Skilled in budgeting, reporting, and data analysis with a solid business mindset Proficiency with Fleet Information Management Systems (FIMS) and MS Office A collaborative leadership style with a knack for building strong teams and relationships

What Sets You Apart?

Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License (required); Class 3 with air brake endorsement in an asset Fleet Management Accreditation (APWA or NAFA) Safety or supervisory certifications (ACSA, NCSO, Public Works Supervisor) Training in Commercial Vehicle Safety
