What is the opportunity?




An exciting and fulfilling opportunity where you will manage the administration, governance, and ongoing development of the Daily Financial Reporting (DFR) system and related processes for RBC Capital Markets. This role will oversee the DFR system and associated processes, and be the primary point of contact for all report outputs, financial and operational controls, and governance. As reporting needs evolve, this DFR role provides the opportunity to continuously improve efficiency of the system, its inter-related processes, and its outputs including employing advanced capabilities using AI and emerging technologies.

What you will do?



Financial Reporting and Controls



Coordinate daily and weekly management reporting ensuring accurate and timely P&L results, commentary, and presentation materials for senior management meetings Monitor and report key statistics for Trader Estimate submissions, Product Controller submissions/approvals, and P&L Decomposition submissions to ensure compliance with the Standing Orders Perform month-end reconciliation between final P&L submissions and GL, and investigate significant breaks to resolution Manage the preparation of standard, non-standard, regular, and ad hoc reports relying in DFR data Prepare and respond to audit requests and assist with ad-hoc projects as directed by Senior Management

Financial System Administration



In collaboration with IT, troubleshoot and resolve application and functional support issues for DFR Support the review of the financial reporting hierarchies to ensure consistent and accurate reporting across CM businesses Provide technical and administrative support on financial systems, including the execution of hierarchy changes, development of financial and management reports, and scheduling of month-end processes Build, educate on, and enforce technical and operational guidance (including documented procedures and controls) covering the full scope of DFR users

What will you need to succeed?



Must Have



Undergraduate University Degree (in fields related to Business, Finance, Computer Science) Investigative and analytical mind set with a creative approach Experience driving process efficiencies Knowledge and experience using analytical tools and managing large datasets Advanced user proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Excel including VBA, Access and PowerPoint; database query tools; and financial reporting systems Motivated to excel in a high-pressure, high-reward environment Ability to initiate and build strong relationships across various stakeholders Organizational skills and ability to multi-task Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in an accounting/finance and reporting environment

Nice to Have



Professional designation or MBA Exposure to Capital Markets businesses and reporting tools/applications (DFR, EPM, TM1/Cognos, Peoplesoft, Finance Datamart, FMSR, FiBRS, Tableau)
