The central Budget Office team is a small team of professional staff that coordinates forecast, budget and multi-year financial planning processes for SFU. Reporting to the Chief Budget Officer, the Budget Office is a cohesive and dedicated team that supports alignment with SFU's strategic goals, priorities and strategic initiatives.

About the Role

The Manager, Financial Resource Planning provides senior-level financial leadership, guidance, and detailed analytics, supporting informed decision-making related to university-wide resource allocations, financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. The role supports decisions involving organizational resource allocations from the financial planning stage, through modeling, approval and distribution. The role leads a team that develops organizational annual budget projections, prepares monthly and quarterly forecasts, conducts variance analyses, and creates financial models to drive decisions and operational excellence. The role serves as a key strategic collaborator with VP Offices, delivering critical financial insights and collaborating on resourcing models that significantly impact the university, often involving highly confidential information, including labour relations considerations and financial modelling that support strategic institutional priorities.
